To think transgender women really have no idea what being a women is ? . Maybe it's time we had a 3rd Gender . Be interested in hearing what real women & transwomen feel ?

OP posts:

In all fairness it must be hard for trans women to have to deal with unwanted pregnancy without access to abortions. Incredibly difficult indeed.

CoteDAzur · 17/05/2018 10:44

"do you believe humans can change sex?"
"They have a sex change operation for that very reason so yes."

You are referring to the removal of penis & testicles and the surgical creation of a hole in that area.

In your opinion, is a Woman = A man with a hole and no dick & balls?

Somone who has gone through the hard process to have their genitals changed in order to be the sex they know themselves to be. Referring to it as "No dick and balls" is rather crass and offensive to me.

However I'll say again that I respect your views and won't try and change them, all I can do is put my own thoughts forward on this debate.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/05/2018 10:47

Transwomen I know, DS1 is one, really don't want to be women. Nobody would choose to be trans. I think that ultimately DS1 just wants the freedom to wear women's tops and flowers in his hair.

Pratchet · 17/05/2018 10:47

Trudeau: this must be new to you. A man with no penis is not a woman. Listen to the admirable and knowledgable women here, who can help you.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 17/05/2018 10:47

I was born into the wrong body. I identify as a supermodel but my stupid body is only 5’2” and a size 16. In my heart I’m 6 foot tall so I’m getting some stilts and then I’ll be a model.

Britain’s Next Top Model are bigots for not letting me through.

Ereshkigal · 17/05/2018 10:48

They have a sex change operation for that very reason so yes.

Ah so you're not using the word "transgender" correctly. Only a small minority have or want an operation. Best to get facts straight. The Stonewall definition is the one used by policy makers. And that is very broad indeed and includes lots of men who like to wear lacy underwear to work one day a week.

Pratchet · 17/05/2018 10:48

Symmetrical, best wishes to your DS. Yes boys should be able to wear what they like without being told they are the wrong sex.

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/05/2018 10:49

They have a sex change operation for that very reason so yes.

Humans cannot change sex. A man with surgical alteration remains a man, just as a woman who has had a mastectomy, hysterectomy etc remains a women.

Sex is immutable, it cannot be changed. It’s coded into your cells. No surgery, no hormones can change it.

This is a statement of impartial fact. Saying it does not mean that transgender people or people dysphoria don’t exist. They do exist and they should never be harmed or discriminated against for it.

But humans cannot change sex. Ever.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/05/2018 10:49

CaliforniaDream please don't call me a fucking ciswoman.

Ereshkigal · 17/05/2018 10:50

Also yes I do mean sex when I say gender, after the operation they are the different sex.

Nope. Still male.

TrudeauGirl · 17/05/2018 10:50

ultimately DS1 just wants the freedom to wear women's tops and flowers in his hair.

I hope he does feel he can dress thay way, regardless of some people's views in society, he sounds lovely. Smile

Moonkissedlegs · 17/05/2018 10:50

That's a very harsh view. So if you haven't had a period of given birth you are not a woman?!

I know women who have chosen not to have children - since they haven't given birth do you think they are not women?

I have a friend with a condition that means she has never had a period and she cannot have children - she doesn't fit either so is she not a woman?

Am so sick of this fucking ridiculous straw man argument.

The reason that your friend doesn't have periods and cannot get pregnant is because she has a condition which means her female reproductive system does not work as it should. Not because she has a cock and balls and produces sperm.

Not having periods and not being able to get pregnant because your ovaries and uterus don't function as they should is a uniquely female experience. No trans woman has ever had that experience. Ever. Because if they had, they wouldn't be a trans woman they would be a woman.

Transwomen are not women. They are transwomen. They are men who have decided that they feel more comfortable living according to the conformities bestowed by society upon women rather than upon men.

Not. Women.

How is it so controversial to say this? How have we got here?

AngryAttackKittens · 17/05/2018 10:50

Also yes I do mean sex when I say gender, after the operation they are the different sex.

The person doing the operation is a surgeon, not a magician, and is not capable of changing anyone's chromosomes or their basic skeletal structure.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/05/2018 10:52

CaliforniaDream normally I'd be on your side, but you're pissing me off.

Moonkissedlegs · 17/05/2018 10:52

Humans cannot change sex.

A woman is not 'someone without a penis and testicles'. That is not the definition of woman.

TrudeauGirl · 17/05/2018 10:53

I'm going to respectfully bow out of this discussion as a few posts are making me quite sad. I can see it's a topic that has been done to death according to some posts. Maybe I'll stick to more light hearted AIBU's.

Have a nice day everyone, enjoy the sunshine. SmileFlowers

Moonkissedlegs · 17/05/2018 10:55

Yes Trudeau how out once the questions get a little tricky for you. It's what everyone else does.

Moonkissedlegs · 17/05/2018 10:55

*bow out

AngryAttackKittens · 17/05/2018 10:56

Not even an attempt to include those of us born with vaginas in the definition of woman from Trudeau. Are we supposed to call ourselves just plain "cis" than and the groups will then be women (used to have testicles), men (used to have breasts), and cis (everyone else)?

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/05/2018 10:58

californiadream

Cis is a nonsense term in this context. It’s used correctly in stereochemistry. It’s used correctly in genetics to denote certain types of genetic control elements.

Cis is grossly offensive when used to describe women. Do you understand why?

malaguena · 17/05/2018 10:59

Even admitting that there is such a thing as a "female essence" which personally I have never experienced and think is absurd, so what? People are free to "live as a woman" whatever it means to them. They can put on make up and wigs. They can change their name to a female one. We have no issue with that and the law protects them. However, it doesn't give them the right to access the spaces designed for women ie people of the reproductive class producing eggs nor to take opportunities away from them, because those have been created to cater for our specific needs as females and to ensure our safety. Women as a class exist and they matter. Women are also not responsible for anyone's suicidal feelings, especially when we are calling for better mental health support and access.

CoteDAzur · 17/05/2018 10:59

"I'm going to respectfully bow out of this discussion as a few posts are making me quite sad."

No problem. Feel free to come back to the discussion when you reach the point in your personal development where your emotions no longer hinder your ability to take part in a debate with other adults.

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/05/2018 10:59

I'm going to respectfully bow out of this discussion as a few posts are making me quite sad.

Yes all the TRAs do this, when they can’t put forth a logical argument. Debate isn’t supposed to make you happy, it’s supposed to thrash out what people’s core beliefs are on an idea or concept.

You have a nice day too.
