I invited 3 friends from my old work round on Friday to meet my new kitten the house is all upside down at the minute because I have just moved in and I have just been told that not only have they invited some random person to meet us in costa for a coffe they have also invited her to my new house to meet my new kitten without asking me if it was ok first its just been dropped on me. I'm really pissed off that they thought that was even ok and I now don't even want to meet up with them at all AIBU to think you cheeky fucker.

@browneyes OP states in her original post that she invited them round and then changed her story.

In my opinion the OP is just being over dramatic. Again.

Is this a royal kitten? My cat’s full name is ‘Queen Boo of the clan’, but nobody has come around specially to visit her, so that will give her something else to be pissed off about Grin

Just give them stuff to do and have a laugh.
Congratulations on your new home Smile

Haven’t read the whole thread but feel sorry for the OP from what I have read... Everyone is different, she doesn’t want a stranger in the house, end of.

Just cancel the whole thing. Feign sickness - I wouldn’t come clean about your real reasons as they would find it weird (based on the fact they thought it was ok in the first place). But if you’re not happy with the arrangement, don’t go ahead with it.

I'm glad you've cancelled OP.
Get your place sorted out before inviting anyone round.
And when you do, make sure to tell them that your anxiety means you don't want strangers in your house so you want, just them to come round and no-one else.
I'm sure they will understand.
Enjoy your new kitten and your new home.

OP states in her original post that she invited them round and then changed her story.

I don’t think she changed her story as such. When asked why she had invited them in the first place, she said that they had asked already if they could go and see the kitten, so she just agreed to let them come round. She only invited them round AFTER they’d already invited themselves.

At least that’s how I read it anyway!

Maybe she should’ve chosen her wording better in her first post, but I guess when you’re annoyed about something, you type first and don’t always realise how it comes across and then spend the rest of the time re-explaining yourself.

Do your friends know that you suffer from anxiety? Might be worth letting them know
