It appears we haven't quite finished workshopping the ethical issues of 'influencing' on Instagram: disclose of advertising, the exploitation of minors and the similarities to MLM schemes.

Whoever it was thanks for the heads up about National Geographic page! Never thought of that.

@Wildlingofthewest how odd, as I can't see it 🤔 and I clearly could before.

Yes you're right too FlyingBird. I definitely don't want to get into a race row.

Highly recommend 'dailyoverview' for aerial shots from all over the world. Beautiful and also good to remember how infinitesimally small we all are.

Also 'the Midult', if you like to snort your tea out through your nose, and 'Make Motherhood Diverse' for a more nuanced and beautiful picture of motherhood.

I was the National Geographic poster but thanks in return to whoever suggested Steve Backshall and Ben Fogle. Also acquired Helen Skelton along the way so might give her a whirl too.

I just watch these things and think they’re total non entities.

Wee Slice (whoever the hell she is) is hosting an “event”...why? In aid of what? It’s all very self indulgent. I’ve just watched one of her stories where she stares at the camera pretending she has something in her mouth...am I missing something? Why is she broadcasting this shite?

@fleariddescruffbag I suggested Steve lol and also follow Helen Skelton, new to her so not quite sure how it goes but she seems nice. Of to look at Ben Fogle and Daily overview

I follow the home edit after recommendation on these threads. I would class it as inspirational rather than reality!

I don't know what WeeSlice's shtick is. I know she once got a parking ticket (possibly speeding) once and set up a JustGiving page for her followers to send her money to pay it. All her instabuddies promoted it in their stories. So that was nice.

Weeslice is a self funded (albeit with freebies she has asked for and has been sent, but fully disclosed) event because she is from Scotland and cannot readily attend the London socials.

Therefore has created her own.

Tbf to her, she hasn't claimed for it to be anything other than a get together and opened it up to everyone who followed her and provided a crèche facility for limited numbers.

I've thought of the other two I look forward to most:

Dour Darcel (amazing NYC based illustrator with an amazing take on the world)
Frances Quinn (for baking)
