my dp has believed this for 30 years. i honestly thought he was winding me up, but no. he really thought female lions are tigers

to make matters worse, i told my db about this and he was really confused. he thought that was right too!

wtf! aibu to be in shock that they believed this or is it a common misconception?!

I've read that before on some of those fairly frequent, hilarious 'stupid things you believed to be true' MN threads. It's astonishing what some people believe! That unicorns were real but are now extinct - that's one of my faves too.

regarding the Jesus being born at Xmas and dieing at Easter it confused me too I went to a catholic primary school and they made a big thing about the Xmas and Easter story's it took me untill I was 9 or 10 to realise they were talking about Xmas and Easter 33 years apart not just 3 or 4 months a part

DH still refuses to believe that female blackbirds are brown. He thinks I'm making it up...he definitely isn't a twitcher!

On a trip to the zoo my nephew once asked me why some of the lions had been shaved. I’m hopeful that I did my bit to save the next generation from lion-based gender confusion.
