My son has a music exam near Windsor on Sat. We will have to leave very early and go back roads to avoid wedding traffic.
Just wondered if anyone else has the Royal wedding negatively affecting their normal life.
BTW, this is light hearted. It's not my biggest issue but is an extra concern.

Zoflora, that sounds like fun! ( not) and very regimented.

The80sweregreat · 15/05/2018 10:14

fit, is this the sister that is going to write i book i read on here?
will she be going to the wedding?

whole family do seem to be out to get her.

Zoflorabore · 15/05/2018 10:15

Oh and a Royal blue/red/white theme own clothes day on Thursday for dd who is in primary school don't forget your pound

ItsNachoCheese · 15/05/2018 10:15

Wont affect me in the slightest... more important things like enjoying the scottish cup final then im dancing in a show at night time

LuxuryWoman2017 · 15/05/2018 10:16

Live in Windsor so will be watching at home then probably pop to local pub in the evening. All the pubs are festooned with bunting near me, it'll be a nice atmosphere I think.

MrsJayy · 15/05/2018 10:18

One of the articles that popped up on my facebook said the family that have not been invited have landed in London I bet Kay interviews them on Saturday

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/05/2018 10:19

I have to make 200 golden syrup iced princess crown biscuits for school and try not to eat them. Otherwise, not much impact.

MrsJayy · 15/05/2018 10:20

Golden Syrup crowns you need to put a picture up so we can see

Step · 15/05/2018 10:36

ReanimatedSGB "If you have to send your DS dressed up with a Royal theme, how about Oliver Cromwell?"

LOL I'm Irish - maybe not!

MadisonAvenue · 15/05/2018 10:36

As long as nothing overruns and affects the FA Cup coverage then I'll be okay.

The80sweregreat · 15/05/2018 10:38

It s going to be a lovely day weather wise all this week (apparently)so i hope that the syrup crowns don;t melt.

wendz86 · 15/05/2018 10:50

It's my daughters dance show and my parents will have to leave early as they drive near Windsor to avoid the traffic. There were signs up on the m3 last weekend about it.

CocoaGin · 15/05/2018 10:51

We had a proper family do for Will and Kates wedding - my mum is a florist so did a big table decoration which randomly matched the flowers completely, so that made her day!! We had afternoon tea, lots of champagne and it was a lovely day looking back glued to the TV. It was a huge celebration and lots of pomp/stuff we Brits do well on.

Have no enthusiasm at all about this one. Feels too low key holding it at Windsor and almost as if the Firm want to brush it under the carpet. I love how the media are trying to make it into something it really isn't though, A* for effort chaps.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/05/2018 10:58

MrsJayy I am baking them tomorrow so I will do! I’ve bought golden balls and gold shimmer dust to decorate them. In my head they look beautiful, the reality may be different.....!!

Tink2007 · 15/05/2018 11:01

It’s the same day as my birthday. Birthday thunder stolen.

LanguidLobster · 15/05/2018 11:04

Tink how very dare they!

Steal it back and pretend the celebrations are for you

CannonFodder · 15/05/2018 11:07

Using a name change here because it would be so outing under my actual username and I was ever “found” by family. Anniversary of my father’s death. I was a confused and emotionally abused teen -also physically abused and some borderline sexual abuse from brother at the time. Hard one for me despite it being so long ago because I’m going through such difficult health issues right now.

ButchyRestingFace · 15/05/2018 11:09

I feel a strange, inexplicable urge coming on to watch the Harry and Meghan movie. 🤢

Not the actual wedding, mind, wild horses and all that...

AgentHannahWells · 15/05/2018 11:14

DD has a non uniform day this Friday but thats the only way it's affecting us. I might get some fizz and watch it though. I love weddings as long as I'm not invited and don't have to sort childcare, present, clothes, travel, hotels. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/05/2018 11:20

all the stupid Markle threads (not this perfectly reasonable thread) are thoroughly pissing me off. That's how I'm affected. Seems parts of mn have turned into a trashy celeb magazine. Whispers, nasty rumours and gossip. Just stop it!

Clandestino · 15/05/2018 11:22

I will have to find somewhere with no telly so I'm hoping for a nice weather as otherwise I'll be stuck somewhere with TVs on. And honestly, I don't give a damn about the wedding and I'm not even considering watching it so need to be far from the madding crowd.

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter · 15/05/2018 11:28

I'm getting married. This may out me.

I've had constant countdowns on the news.

Might have a look at her dress while I get ready. Probably won't care 😂

MrsG841 · 15/05/2018 11:32

It's also my wedding anniversary so double celebration

CFTrollsSmell · 15/05/2018 11:34

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter. Given your user name ifpd be less concerned about the Royal Wedding and more concerned that you have chosen a Community Day to get married.

Far more important than the RW is the fact that my birthday is on Saturday, so I shall be getting drunk somewhere. I may wear something patriotic whilst getting drunk.
