I have an awful hangover and also had a massive argument with dp last night. Feel like shit physically and mentally. Supposed to be going to see my parents for a week and getting flight this afternoon but have to get a tram, bus then train to the airport first.

Have seen i can get another flight tomorrow for 20 quid...

Should i go today or tomorrow? I feel guilty if i postpone but im not sure i can even walk straight

OP I am guessing you are fairly young. When I was in my 20's I didn't really give drink that much thought - went out and had some great nights, terrible hangovers.

As I got older I realised that I didn't really want a 'drink-orientated' life...don't get me wrong, I still drink (probably more than I should) but not to excess. I identified that some of the people we socialised with were what I would call heavy drinkers (more interested in booze than food, went out with the express intent of putting away lots of booze, etc.) - I just didn't want that and kind of feel that what is fun when you are younger, can get a bit seedier somehow as you get older.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that maybe you should reflect on whether every social event turns into a boozy marathon or whether it's just when you socialise with his folks. Maybe it's not! and maybe you are happy with it all. But just turn it all over in your mind and make sure that you are in the right place for you.

Ginger1982 · 13/05/2018 16:15

Wait, what? He got blitzed at this party and then drove you both home? You're both idiots.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 13/05/2018 16:37

You both sound like a pair of pissheads now. Time for you both to grow up.

GertrudeCB · 13/05/2018 16:43

Glad you decided to go op, use the time to get some perspective .

SavageBeauty73 · 13/05/2018 16:46

Haven't you heard of taxis? Drinking and driving is outrageous

higgyyellow · 13/05/2018 17:41

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKConfused

You are lucky a hangover was the worst you suffered.

BrutusMcDogface · 13/05/2018 17:51

Shock He drank and DROVE?!

BrutusMcDogface · 13/05/2018 17:52

He sounds like a fucking idiot in more ways than one. I'd stay at your parents' if I were you, Brighton. Unbelievable.

Nanny0gg · 13/05/2018 17:58

Well he's a catch all round isn't he?

The row should have been about him drinking and driving.

And how are you living together and he hasn't met your family?

How old are you both? Cos you sound about 19.

OrangeJam · 13/05/2018 18:00

he was having a good time (got drunk himself and yes, then drove) and was just enjoying himself and didnt want to leave.

This is not okay.

OrangeJam · 13/05/2018 18:02

Bold fail sorry.

blueskyinmarch · 13/05/2018 18:09

Drink driving is so not okay. And you got in the car with him! I am gobsmacked.

higgyyellow · 13/05/2018 18:19

How old are you both? Cos you sound about 19.

Bag out of order to blame stupidity on age. It is completely unfair to all the sensible young adults, which there are millions of.

WilburIsSomePig · 13/05/2018 18:28

Hang on a minute, he got plastered and drove home? And you actually got in the car with him?

All sympathy lost, you're both idiots.

Nanny0gg · 13/05/2018 18:30

Bag out of order to blame stupidity on age. It is completely unfair to all the sensible young adults, which there are millions of.

That is very true. It's ,more the general attitude and behaviour )rather than the drink driving) that sounds immature to me.

ObiJuanKenobi · 13/05/2018 18:50

Biscuit for him and Biscuit for you.

FowlisWester · 13/05/2018 19:01

He's a dick for making you go and a cock for driving.... you're a fanny for letting him and seemingly not seeing that as the major issue here

overnightangel · 13/05/2018 19:17

“got drunk himself and yes, then drove“

And you condone this and get in the car with him?
Do his family know he does this?
Do either of you live in the real fucking world?

VerbenaBorensis · 13/05/2018 21:09

Idiots both of you. As well as selfish-no point in saying someone else on the roads could have been injured or worse cos yr too thick to understand. Don't care how old you are. Old enough to drive.

CFTrollsSmell · 13/05/2018 21:12

The fact he drank drove and the fact you let him drink drive is AWFUL.

There is no excuse at all.

Goldmonday · 13/05/2018 21:37

Wow the drink driving is completely unacceptable.

Next time you go anywhere together book taxis in advance, then you have to leave at a set time and you don't have to endure the "just one more drink" for hours on end.

GabsAlot · 13/05/2018 21:56

so he drink drives and you willingly go with him?

oh and hes never met your family-but u had to move to be near his
