Irony alert: Meghan Markle’s Dad

Sorry, found this hilarious. Meghan Markle’s Dad has staged some pics with the paparizzo to send out a message re his DDs wedding (ie he is going).

This is being reported by the press in a vv ‘tut tut aren’t her family awful’ manner.

Am I alone in finding this hilariously hypocritical? I remember St Diana getting caught in a car with Richard Kay from the Daily Mail and she wrote a book secretly with Daily Express journalist Andrew Morton.

Plus who had those pics front page the day they were taken? That’s right. The Daily Mail!

I am not a Meghan fan at all. But I got up this morning and looked at the papers and felt like I had gone done a rabbit hole when I saw her Das being slated for this supposedly ‘unroyal’ behaviour which is actually the most royal thing in the world ever.

Well, maybe he suffers from anxiety or something. I mean, millions of people are going to be watching the wedding all over the world. It’s a lot of pressure. The chest pains might be panic attacks. If he doesn’t want to go, they should respect that and leave him alone.

I wasn’t surprised by the maid of honour thing. The only royal wedding which had an adult bridesmaid was Kate’s. And let’s face it, the only thing anybody remembers about that wedding is Pippa’s arse, can see why MM wouldn’t have fancied the idea.

But knowing this, wouldn't you invite some other family members then, so he could feel supported by them also? Everyone who could have supported him is left off the guest list. It would (as far as we know) have been just him and his ex. None of his brothers, other children, grandchildren who understand his difficulties, would have been there to help him get through.

I still think ultimately he didn't want to go. This isn't an ordinary wedding. It's the biggest day in your daughter's life. Most Fathers would move heaven and earth to be there.

The sister was on tv yesterday saying that she wasn’t at Meghan’s first wedding as she is in a wheelchair and it was a beach wedding. She said that the photos were her idea, full of good intentions to show her father in a better light, well there is truth in the saying “ The road to hell is praved with good intentions”

It's not what I took from it at all, I do remember the tabloids making a bizarre fuss about it though. Surely it was that the dress was so form fitting rather than that she was particularly shapely. Pippa is extremely skinny and not remotely curvy. There was no bum! It was quite an odd reaction.

I foolishly asked him to explain as I didn't get all the furore either.

I’m not sure it is strange. I imagine it would be a bit of a logistical nightmare taking a royal to what appears to be the armpit end of Mexico. There are a lot of problems in that area with smuggling, drugs and people traffickers IIRC.

I feel a bit sorry for the dad. He seems completely overwhelmed by this. It's been badly handled from start to finish. I'm also a bit sad for her. She doesn't seem to have any sensible family members other than her mum. Her sister seems batshit and I seem to remember the brother hasn't done himself any favours (but perhaps i've got that wrong?)

Harry and her dad could have met in LA perhaps or somewhere quieter in California. Where her dad lives is not far across the border. I find it strange too. Or she could have brought him out to Toronto. Perhaps they're estranged though, who knows. It does seem strange they didn't meet somewhere.

I thought the half sister was awful when she was on TV yesterday. She was pretending her not being invited to both weddings was due to her wheelchair where as it sounds as though they don't get on and dislike each other or have no real relationship and her illness is irrelevant. They had one phonecall in the past umpteen years which the half sister made to inform Megan about the health of someone in the family.
She was saying "I don't blame her for..." a lot in a PA way making it clear a "nice" half sister would have accommodated the poor loving disabled half sister.

I couldn't see anything remotely different or attractive about it Grin certainly not wiggling like M monroe.

Might not be strange that Harry hasn’t visited his soon to be FIL, but it IS strange that his supposedly doting daughter hasn’t bothered to make any effort to see him, or support him. Or was she just too busy jetting around the world on her many ‘humanitarian’ missions. Lot of truth in the old adage..charity begins at home.

How do you know that Harry hasn't "bothered"? Maybe Thomas Markle refused to meet him or to travel to the US which would be safer than Mexico.
