Can't believe the previous thread reached a thousand posts, thanks so much for your support everyone!

I ended up reading MIL's facebook messages for me this morning. Turns up she wants to meet up at a café this weekend to smooth things over "without the boys knowing". She also said she would bring the egg pram back (?!).

Haven't replied yet. DH was pretty upset last night; not sure if he is actually considering going NC with his father. If so, it wouldn't be fair of me to meet up with his Mum in secret - but she's always been lovely to me and I'd hate for my GC having no GP in his life.
Ugh! Still so gutted over this whole thing.

As they’re DH’s parents I’d let him make the decision but I’d counsel him against doing anything rashly.

OP what did the scanning place say when you asked them why it had been cancelled? It seems unusual practice.

For those asking about payment in advance, this does happen with private scans, I had to pay over the phone to book mine.

I’m so sorry for all this. What horrible, uncaring and petty people. It’s a miracle your DH is as stable and mature as he is!

However it’s good that you now have the full measure of your ILs. You can now avoid a life of emotional manipulation and mind games for your baby and yourself. I’m sure it feels awful right now but I promise you will soon gain perspective and see how lucky you are that this all happened now before it touched your child’s life directly. No grandparents are better than crappy mean ones.

Cancelling something they gave you previously as a birthday present is rather uncalled for. Still...I would make arrangements to go to one anyway! To be honest the 4D part of my scan wasn’t as great as I thought it’d be but I got some much better normal scan photos than I had at my nhs appointment where DD wouldn’t get in a position for them to get proper measurements of pictures stubborn cow anyway if you can’t afford a full 4D scan get yourself a private regular scan and get yourself a nice long look at you little one and some photos! Once in a lifetime sort of thing.
