About avocado peel?

I had brunch in an expensive avocado smashing kind of place.

Half way through I realised that in the smash was unpeeled avocado, and I was eating it.

It was a small place and I didn't want to make a fuss, so I very quietly told the waitress and explained I would like a refund as that was unacceptable. She came back to me with three free coffee vouchers and a croissant and explained that they didn't want to refund me as I'd eaten half of it.

I quietly accepted and left.

Should I have insisted on a refund?

Oh I know the type of place OP I got a coffee in one the other day and felt like I was in the the McDonalds McCafe advert!

A non-fancy smashed avocado place is Wetherspoons. My local does a toasted bagel with (s)mashed avocado, chopped tomato, red onion and coriander - together with a 'bottomless' coffee of your choice, it's about 3 quid. AND you get it served on a proper plate.

Notso believe it. I had never heard of an 'avocado smashing' kind of place until I read this thread. Why is that so hard to comprehend?!

@iklboo @Takeoutyourhen - I've been to similar places in several towns/cities round the South East, they're not unique to the (very unhipster) city I actually live in!

I would refuse to pay £8.95 for that in the first place. —too tight—

Buy some naice sourdough ciabetta, toast a garlic rubbed slice, lightly mash avocado and drizzle a little soy sauce on top.
