I don't know about you, but since the instamums posts I have really noticed the #AD on posts, and to be honest I had no idea I was so gullible. I loved the threads regards instamums and really think MN made a small change, well done us

The dearmumsnet post got 5000 likes compared to 33,000 on the twins one immediately preceding. That’s crap engagement out of nearly half a million followers.

Reporting someone you think hasn’t breached the ASA guidelines isn’t bullying in any way. That’s what the ASA is there for and they actively invite people to report if they believe there is a breach. You can see from the ASA rulings that it’s not instamums being singled out. What a ridiculous assertion.

@MadameGrizzly

The op on that thread asked the question was she being unreasonable re those 5 seconds, no mention of rape. The first reply was basically telling her she'd been raped, then another 5 or so replies along the lines of so sorry you've been raped. Then a poster came along disagreeing with the first few posters and was slated. The op came back saying she didn't feel as though she been raped so another barrage of replies discussing the technicalities of rape and telling her yes she had been raped and that she should report her her husband to the police. How the fuck was that "helpful advice"?

Imo absolutely disgusting, but nothing to do with this discussion.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/05/2018 21:05

schrodinger - that has actually rendered me somewhat speechless. How. What. Argh. Just how is it possible to write such a thing and do that. I do sometimes wonder if MOD and FOD are on an very elaborate wind up

HolyMountain · 08/05/2018 21:06

Come on Sofia where has MoD been bullied on Mumsnet?

It’s a serious accusation so back it up.

The truth is, she hasn’t been.

She’s been talked about and challenged about her content on her IG feed.

That isn’t bullying.

Sofialemon · 08/05/2018 21:06

@SurfingUSA

Well the instagrammers who mentioned being reported stated that they were not upheld. I suppose they could be lying, but then why mention it.

@SurfingUSA I'd give her the benefit of the doubt on that one, I think it's just a scribble?

CadyHeron · 08/05/2018 21:11

that's OK holy, no worries Smile was just a bit confused for a minute there lol

CadyHeron · 08/05/2018 21:13

sofia I saw the post earlier saying that they and others had been reported to ASA but they hadn't been upheld. Surely if there was any wrongdoing they would have been upheld?
I wasn't surprised to see that they had though, as one of the other threads had a whole watching and reporting thing going on and someone had linked to the report site and someone else was hashtagging #reportlikeagoodcitizen

Sofialemon · 08/05/2018 21:14

@Gobbolinothewitchscat &@HolyMountain

You were both on some of those threads, although possibly not on the earlier blogger threads.

If you don't think that hundreds of comments pulling someone apart, criticising them constantly, questioning their motives, their work ethic, saying they are putting their kids in danger, discussing their finances, their marriage etc etc is not bullying then how do you educate your children on the subject?

It was a sustained assassination of MOD's & FOD's character, justified by "well they've put themselves in the public eye, so tough".

HolyMountain · 08/05/2018 21:14

Sorry again Cady

I feel rubbish for quoting you wronglySad

Therightphalange · 08/05/2018 21:14

I'm sure that when Otillie and Delilah are older they will be absolutely thrilled that their parents shared pictures of them on the potty, along with a description of their defecation antics, with the entire world.

HolyMountain · 08/05/2018 21:16

sofia

It isn’t bullying .

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/05/2018 21:18

Ow ow ow @Therightphalange

You namechecked the kids! That hurts me and I’m not even MOD.

But you’re right. You’re absolutely right. And the fact that’s a winceable comment for me - a stranger - shows in stark truth the high stakes gamble that InstamumFame™️ can be.

SurfingUSA · 08/05/2018 21:19

Ktay I can't add the screenshot for some reason. It defo looks like 'Ad' to me. Anyone else see MOD's (potato) dress story??

HolyMountain · 08/05/2018 21:20

MoFod are not bullied by Mumsnet users.

They are judged.

Not bullied.

Does this work - scrawl bottom right. I think it's coincidence it looks like AD. No scrawled hashtag for a start!

#AD
SurfingUSA · 08/05/2018 21:25

Nah Sofialemon. Being discussed as a public IG account on a chat forum isn't being bullied.

DMing nasty comments is.

SurfingUSA · 08/05/2018 21:27

Ktay thank you!

But that's my point - there's no # I think she's being 'funny'.

Sofialemon · 08/05/2018 21:27

@MarvelleGazelle

Sorry about that. I stand by what I said on that thread. What her husband did was selfish, uncaring & thoughtless but without any other info from the op re their relationship I felt the replies were far too extreme.

If the op found the replies helpful how come she stopped posting? There were many posters on their who had suffered horrible experiences and I felt this has effected them too profoundly to be able to give impartial advice on that thread.

Still waiting for those examples of bullying MoD Sofia that you've seen on here Sofia.

Waiting patiently Smile

SurfingUSA · 08/05/2018 21:29

But happy to be wrong. Might have just had a long day! And saw Clemmie Telford's snarky post 'explaining' how gifts/advertising works. Thought a few of them were on a mission today because of this thread.

HolyMountain · 08/05/2018 21:30
  • one too many Sofia there, sorry.
