I don't know about you, but since the instamums posts I have really noticed the #AD on posts, and to be honest I had no idea I was so gullible. I loved the threads regards instamums and really think MN made a small change, well done us

@marvellegazelle nope. Not arrogant. Think you’re getting a bit irritated that I’m the only one on this thread that has a different opinion tho...

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/05/2018 21:12

Someone said, on one of these previous threads (forgot which one, there are too many to count by now), that if you’re getting upset about how a SM account is affecting your mental health, it’syourissue, not theirs. It’s your responsibility to use it wisely, and educate your kids about how to use it wisely. It’s nottheirresponsibility. Wise words, I think.

Sorry? What? You are making some very big assumptions here. I can't speak on behalf of anyone else here but instagram floggers don't affect my mental health in the slightest

You would be better taking your faux concern over to instagram where Natasha Bailie is posting increasingly hysterical stories about people killing themselves as a result of Mumsnet threads. These are people who really need to keep of social media in all forms. And the internet in general

Mumofkids · 07/05/2018 21:39

@timetogetanewfence I certainly don't mind you having a different point of view and caring about different issues to me. I'm not saying that how I or my children react to SM is an accounts responsibility, I am saying that the poor regulations in place effect young people and am interested in mental health and hate accounts that use it as a USP when there's no real evidence of true mental health issues it is just a band wagon to jump on. One account I really liked has done this and I found that irritating. But I don't feel anger, envy or upset (or rage) at any social media accounts I follow. And I wouldn't dream of trying to change or influence them if I didn't like them, they are businesses and either I follow because I accept that or I unfollow. It would be quite rude to try and change them, and very few are open to any discussion or debate.
I definitely spend more time in my life worrying about our effects on our environment and aspects such as climate change and how my family can reduce its impact (particularly plastic use) but I see nothing wrong in having a discussion about some Instagram accounts and their questionable use of children and gifts and ads.

Me too but she's been posting on other accounts as that user recently so I wasn't sure... I also don't think she's the kind that would bother 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mumofkids · 07/05/2018 22:18

*threads not accounts!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/05/2018 22:20

I'm pretty sure it's not Cady. While Cady was extremely persistent, she wasn't ever patronising (repetitive, yes, patronising, no) and I can't imagine her ever starting a sentence "Guys, guys", claiming to be a writer or suggesting people were getting "ragey".

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 07/05/2018 22:46

Sorry, I know I shouldn't do this.... But I just looked on MODs stories and to be fair she has actually bought her own tupperware: FORTY ACTUAL POUNDS on six stackable boxes. Apparently loads of people recommended this particular set. Who are these people? I don't think I would spend 40 quid on six tupperware boxes even if I was an actual gazillionare!

Someone really needs to point her in the direction of Home Bargains. You can get a set of like 12 boxes of all different sizes and uses for about a tenner.

CadyHeron · 07/05/2018 22:52

She's reading this thread now. HI NATASHA!

that genuinely made me Grin
Christ,I see this thread is as full of fawning, 10 year old girl fans professing to hate guts but loves them really as the other ones were.
It reminds me of being back at school Grin

NovichoksAway · 07/05/2018 22:54

I think it was ironic, Cady...

But nice to see you anyway Smile

CadyHeron · 07/05/2018 22:55

I noticed a Cadyish flavour to current discussions too..

Hang on, whuh?! Confused I've genuinely only just posted my first post on here about a minute ago and now going through and seen this.

allaboardtheallergybus · 07/05/2018 22:59

‘I know I shouldn’t but’....
Take the piss? laugh at how someone chooses to spend their money? oh pls grow up. I thought this was called #AD or are we back to obsessing over MOD again it’s all too predictable and repetitive guys I think it was Mumsnet who said on the last thread that after over 1000 posts enough was enough.

PurplePumpkinPiss · 07/05/2018 23:01

Ellen I just saw that too from MOD and went Shock

That's a lot of money for not a lot of containers.

@allaboardtheallergybus I think you missed the point about why they were laughing. Unlike yourself to just make a comment based on nothing then disappear.

Fair play to her for buying them at £40 I hope the 284 positive reviews are right!

NovichoksAway · 07/05/2018 23:13

Cady is a writer? Confused

CadyHeron · 07/05/2018 23:14

Cady - I strongly implied that another poster on here was you. Novichoks thought it wasn’t although she’s wrong about you never claiming to be a writer. And then under 10 mins later you turned up...

Ah right Grin well, you can take your tin foil hat off as I've really not been posting as anyone else. , I must just be the master of coincidences lol!
I now need the other poster to cross post with me to prove Grin
If there is another likeminded poster out there it's heartening to know that there's still some sanity out there....

Mumofkids · 07/05/2018 23:15

Mumsnet can see though can't they? If someone posts as a different name? Isn't that sock puppeting?

CadyHeron · 07/05/2018 23:16

I post waffle on MN a lot, but I really couldn't be arsed sock puppeting myself, that goes beyond sad lol

Mumofkids · 07/05/2018 23:18

Actually Cady I felt it was more of the other poster as you did care about children being used on accounts and possible future implications, but that it was parental right to choose. This poster doesn't give a monkeys for children being used and is baffled why it would be discussed. But they quoted you with some awe 🙌🏻
