Would you be pissed off if your partner went to one of these sleazy places? Am I overreacting to be pissed off about dh going to one when he knew I'd be cross about it ? I'm not hopping mad but I'm certainly very unimpressed!

Yeah but the girls there are hardly forced into it, they love it.

Not forced but love it? Cmon, you think women actually love serving fat letcherous blokes wings?

Correct me if I’m wrong but we’re in 2018 not 1918.

What's your point?

It’s a good laugh,
What's so funny? The wings?

had by all
Not by all, no Dave.

lighten up :/
Why?

OutofSyncGirl · 30/04/2018 20:56

I’d be horrified if my dd had to go to work dressed like this. The outfits really leave little to the imagination and are made out of material that makes fanny cracks obvious.

When I was 19 I got harassed by customers in ordinary places. Imagine what these women probably put up with?

It diverse in the fact that the people I meet and drink with there

Huh? How many beers have you had tonight Barry?

ShirleyValentineswall · 30/04/2018 20:59

Aye nae bother Dave, I agree with the PP who said you over egged the pudding.

DairyisClosed · 30/04/2018 21:00

I would be surprised but I wouldn't be pissed off. I don't really see any harm. As my husband says. 'Never go near a prole hole.' I just don't see what effect that could possibly have on anything.

littlepill · 30/04/2018 21:02

😂😆🤣 The boy’s just get funnier and funnier!!! Lighten up?! With such a comedic definition of diversity, we have no choice!

This thread was brought to you by the marketing department of Hooters.

littlepill · 30/04/2018 21:02

The boys. But maybe my iPhone meant the boy’s definition 😂

Helmetbymidnight · 30/04/2018 21:03

Lots of Reddits 'letting off steam' tonight I think.

WomaninGreen · 30/04/2018 21:05

Beer "It's not sleazy at all."

What do you consider sleazy?

Helmetbymidnight · 30/04/2018 21:06

As my husband says. 'Never go near a prole hole.' I just don't see what effect that could possibly have on anything

Grin.

What a twat.

Mamadothehump · 30/04/2018 21:07

Not read all the replies but the one I went to in New York recently (with my 2 female friends) wasn't sleazy at all!! The waitresses wore low cut tops and short shorts but why the hell not?! The one who served us was lovely and seemed happy. The other customers (male and female) were doing the same as us - having a drink and chat with friends!!

WomaninGreen · 30/04/2018 21:08

littlepill "This thread was brought to you by the marketing department of Hooters"

Agree. And to them I say.....bake the wings in diazepam and then I'll consider buying them as takeout Grin

KimKurl · 30/04/2018 21:08

I used to work in Hooters. Make whatever judgement you'd like to. I never felt objectified, the 'outfit' was nowhere near as small as the ones on tv. I actually have very small boobs and it's almost impossible for me to have cleavage. When you did have men come in who were overbearing they were kicked out by the bouncers almost immediately. I had a great laugh, met so many people (most of whom were families), and was very looked after by our security. I used to get huge tips (really, huge) and it worked to my advantage. If men wanted to be a bit letchy and give you a 50 tip then more fool them! They were almost always removed afterwards.

I see no issue in a man going to Hooters. The girls who work/worked in there (me) are normal people who are not offering up sex, relationships or even flirtations (not allowed). What do you think he was going to do?

WomaninGreen · 30/04/2018 21:10

Mama
I haven't been to New York for ages but I loved it
It's full of great food places so I'm wondering why you chose Hooters?

I kind of agree with Grin - why is it OK for someone to use their intellect and brains to get a job and do well in a job, but if someone uses their attractiveness it's bad and looked down on - why should they feel ashamed about that?

People have different strengths and weakness, some people are really intelligent, some aren't, some are both. So basically if you're using your looks to do well in a job it's seen as being really bad. What if they enjoy their jobs? Should they feel bad?

gawdsake · 30/04/2018 21:11

Why the name change Baz/@beerbellybarry ?

Wtf does diverse mean in this context?

Ok well if it's such harmless fun Dave, then like I said I'm sure you wouldn't mind your missus ogling semi naked blokes then? I'm all for equality and all that!

littlepill · 30/04/2018 21:12

It sounds like such a classy place!

Greggers2017 · 30/04/2018 21:12

Oh fgs! I hate these silly threads. Nobody forces these women to do it and if you don't like it then fair enough don't go to the restaurant but don't stop the women who want to do it.
My sister who suffered years of anorexia and bulimia plus depression as a teen turned herself around and got herself a job as a pit girl. She loved the job and it did her confidence the world of good but now she can't do it because people object. Why? Let people do what they want if it isn't breaking the law.
Amazing wings too as People have said above!

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 30/04/2018 21:15

😂😂

I think you've got HomebrewDave down to a T 🤣

gawdsake · 30/04/2018 21:15

Aye good one Greggers

OutofSyncGirl · 30/04/2018 21:18

It's not wrong for anyone to make the most of their looks. It is the restaurant in the wrong. When a restaurant objectifies women as their main selling point then it's damaging to women generally. Including our daughters who will have to grow up with some women as well as men telling them it's really not a big deal.

noblegiraffe · 30/04/2018 21:19

It’s shame that apparently the best chicken wings in the world come with a side order of sexism. Why don’t they take the recipe, open up a less problematic restaurant and enjoy the increased profits?

littlepill · 30/04/2018 21:20

Chicken wings are the crappiest, cheapest bit of meat around. I am in awe of any restaurant that can make them taste so amazing!
