That many people believe they are pro choice but are not

My understanding of pro choice is that you support a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy.

Many people claim to be pro choice but then express shock at the reason a woman chooses to terminate.

This isn't pro choice then, is it?

You're just the opposite side of the ProLife coin, so extreme that you put people off

All this whataboutery of abortions at 38 weeks is so offensive, as if women will suddenly start doing this because they can.

I'm not sure you've read their previous posts. They are very anti choice

My comment was in response to her point that there’s a similarity between the full-on pro-life and pro-choice positions. Namely they both make a virtue of the simplicity of their position which I think isn’t a virtue at all. Both are wrong in my opinion, and I agree that those wavering may be swayed by the thought that it’s one step to a unequivocal pro-choice position they won’t accept.

I don’t think

If this is the case, why such passion to make this legal!

It's not 'whataboutery' if in order to change the law legislators would literally have to ask how they would deal with the practicalities of abortion being legal at 38 weeks for any reason. Should it be available on the NHS? How much provision should there be? Would more healthcare professionals conscientiously object to carrying out the abortion? Would this lead to questions about whether these abortions were really accessible to all?
