MY DD 4 year old said I didn't need to get her anything for her birthday because she thought we couldn't afford it.

Yesterday, my 3mo was falling asleep on my knee and I kissed him on his forehead. He was half asleep but he broke into the biggest smile in his sleep.

My dd sings him to sleep sometimes too. They’re just lovely my babies!

I had to have some injections but had no childcare, so had to bring my 2yo with me. I had distracted him with a toy, but he noticed what was going on, came over to me, took me by the hand, looked me in the eye and repeated to me exactly the words I had said to him while he had had his MMR a few weeks previously.

CocoLoco87 · 27/04/2018 08:18

DS (3yrs) told me my face looked nice yesterday. I'd put on makeup for the first time in a few days Grin

Queenofthedrivensnow · 27/04/2018 08:20

Dd1 when I asked if she could remember before dd2 was born 'yes mummy when I was sad and lonely for a sister' she was 3

Queenofthedrivensnow · 27/04/2018 08:21

And not my dc but one I worked with 'I have 2 mummy's but b is my mostest mummy' b was her foster carer

Lovelise · 27/04/2018 08:29

DS was born profoundly deaf so we are all learning sign language. When I dropped DD off at pre school yesterday she signed 'I love you mummy' as I was leaving.

Brought a tear to my eye it did.

Fevertree · 27/04/2018 08:36

I am pregnant and was being sick the other morning, it came on quite quickly so I didn't have time to shut both doors as I usually do. My 4yo came in and was rubbing my back, pulling my hair from my face and patting my hands. She then brought me
her cup of water. Love her so much x

3stonedown · 27/04/2018 08:41

It's really silly but I was led on the bed with my 21 month old she pulled my head onto her chest and wrapped her arms around me. It's strange how someone so tiny can make you feel so secure and safe.

Popadoodledoo · 27/04/2018 08:56

I always try to make an effort with my hair and appearance. Yesterday I had it curled and styled, ds1 (3) came up to me, stroked my head to my cheeks and said 'your hair is beautiful mummy'

I brought ds2 8 month down from his nap, ds1 said 'hi baby you're awake, come sit on my knee for a cuddle darling' and proceeded to cuddle and kiss him for 10 minutes Smile

Trufflethewuffle · 27/04/2018 09:02

When DS2 was about three, we were walking back from playgroup when he saw a huge caterpillar that someone had squished the end of.

DS was distraught, he squatted down beside it in tears, sobbing that the poor caterpillar "will never ever be a butterfly".

onefootinthegrave · 27/04/2018 09:14

When DS was 7, I had bought a whiteboard for the kitchen for reminders, but the first thing I wrote on it was 'Dear DS, who loves you baby?'

A little while later I went back in to find he'd written

'You do mummy. PS I love you too xx'

DS was premature and has a number of disabilities, meaning he struggles to write and has aspergers, It was the first time he'd ever written anything like that. It will never be wiped off!

PandaCat · 27/04/2018 09:17

The day DD2 was born, when DD1 held her for the first time she said it was the best day of her life. I wanted to cry!

Cockmagic · 27/04/2018 09:22

DD (9) is autistic, and her father can be flaky.

Have been with my partner for 2.5 years, moving in together shortly, he's fantastic with her.

" Mammy, living with you and DP will be a dream come true, and with our dog we'll be a proper family"

Strippervicar · 27/04/2018 09:32

"Mummy." DD (3) is has ASC and speech delay. I had to wait 2 years and 8 months to her her say it, but what a reward. And even more so when she said, "love you mummy" one night going to sleep at almost 3.
I am sure there is a lot of these on this thread but they are all so so special.

LaDilettante · 27/04/2018 09:33

Three year old DD said to me 'I love playing with my mummy. I can do play-doh. I can do Sands. I can do painting. I can do ANYTHING!!!'

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 27/04/2018 09:38

I was in a shop yesterday and the cashier said bye bye to my 18m old.
Dd replied ‘bye bye loo-doo’
The lady laughed and said ‘ah, love you too’
It suddenly clicked.
Dd has been saying ‘loo-doo’ for ages but it took a lovely stranger for me to realise that she means
‘Love you’
She makes me go all squishy.

NorthEndGal · 27/04/2018 09:38

He is a sweet and thoughtful fellow, he turns 19 tomorrow and is just as lovely as he was at 4. Just 6 foot something and quite beardy now, haha!

tinkertailorsoldierspyy · 27/04/2018 09:39

I was running a cake stall in town for a charity. A mum with two small children stopped to buy a cake.

I heard the little boy whisper to his sister, 'If mummy was having a bad day we wouldn't be getting anything.'

I thought it was really sweet that he could recognise that sometimes his mum had bad days.

Loonoon · 27/04/2018 09:41

DD1 was about 8 heard us talking about someone being homophobic and asked what it meant. I explained that some religious people thought it was wrong for people of the same sex to be a couple. In a tone of amazement she said' but God is happy when people love one another'.

Monr0e · 27/04/2018 09:43

My DD wrote me this note

"I've known you less than I've loved you because my heart was pumping before I was born"

It means so much as I had pnd after her birth and I spent a long time thinking she didn't love me and I wasn't enough.

To ask the things your children said or did that melted your heart
BelfastSmile · 27/04/2018 09:45

DS (3) didn't want to go downstairs for some reason. He tried everything: "but I need the toilet", "but I want to read one more book" etc etc. Finally he said "but... but... but I LOVE you, Mummy!!!"

Babdoc · 27/04/2018 09:46

My DH died when my DDs were 11 months and 2 years old respectively. When they were 2 and 3, they found me crying as it was my DH’s birthday and I explained I was sad as I missed him and couldn’t celebrate it with him.
They promptly sat down to draw him home made Birthday cards, and sang “Happy Birthday” to him in heaven.
It made me cry even more, but for happier reasons, bless them!

EnglishRose13 · 27/04/2018 09:49

When my niece was about 6 she said I could have her life savings (about £11) as I was moving house so needed it more than she did.

Almost cried.
