To think please not Arthur

It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

Why not Stephen?

CookPassBabtridge · 25/04/2018 19:24

I hope it is Arthur, it's a beautiful name and now popular among little ones so is losing its 'old man' link gradually!

willynillypie · 25/04/2018 19:26

LaurieMarlow

You will probably be safe as it's George's middle name!

SelkieUnderLand

I think we will have to, but it will look like we've copied them like lunatic fans, and I am worried about the name increasing in popularity. Ha, I guess you aren't keen on cricket anymore then!

ethelfleda · 25/04/2018 19:30

I also really hope they don't call him Arthur

I do not want our 6mo ds to share his class with 6 others with the same name and for everyone to think we named ours after theirs!!

pollmeister · 25/04/2018 19:32

Arthur is my dogs name! (He's a lurcher)

Leontine · 25/04/2018 19:32

I hadn’t thought of Arthur, but I think it’d be a good fit.

Mycatsaninja · 25/04/2018 19:34

It has to be Elvis ........buff said !!

PerfectlyDone · 25/04/2018 19:34

How long will we have to wait for the ruddy name?

Mycatsaninja · 25/04/2018 19:34

Nuff (stupid autocorrect)

Rainydaydog · 25/04/2018 19:36

Apparently Prince Charles' name wasn't released for a month after he was born...

MumofBoysx2 · 25/04/2018 19:37

Not keen on Arthur either, sounds fuddy duddy! Henry is a nice name. Such a shame they didn't call George something else otherwise how perfect would that have been on St George's day!

MrsSeverusSnape · 25/04/2018 19:39

@EthelFleda My son George was 4 months when HRH was born, after the initial flurry of "oh like the Prince?" when he was introduced to new people, no one mentioned it again, and he is the only George in his nursery class. I wouldn't worry.

simiisme · 25/04/2018 19:48

I like Arthur; it's our youngest's middle name.

Sunafterstorm · 25/04/2018 19:49

I think Arthur is a good name. I think we would get used to it. Look at the rise of Stanley.

Rainbunny · 25/04/2018 19:53

Well as long as it isn't Alfred (apologies to Alfred fans). Something traditional but a bit more sexy would be a nice change for the royals. I personally have been liking "Theodore" which can be shortened to Theo.
I actually know two Theodores but they're American and go by "Ted" (why would call yourself Ted when you could call yourself Theo!!).

aquashiv · 25/04/2018 19:58

Charles or Brian

The smart money is on Donald.

Bunnyfuller · 25/04/2018 20:11

Norman or Malcom or Derek. Long overdue.

Bunnyfuller · 25/04/2018 20:12

Or ‘of Darkness’

HolyMountain · 25/04/2018 20:14

I can’t name the PP who says Victor is a great name.

I know a little Victor , he is beyond gorgeous and his older brother has a terrific name as well.

Prince .... ?
