It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

Nicholas, Phillip or James

TERFousBreakdown · 24/04/2018 20:24

Same as Julian.

Julian is lovely biased as hell on the grounds that I happen to know two extremely lovely Julians (not my sons, neither my lovers)

HexeSauerkraut · 24/04/2018 20:26

Or Jolyon..?

HexeSauerkraut · 24/04/2018 20:29

Or to go with a Welsh theme, Dai?

cocodomingo · 24/04/2018 20:29

Im going for Hamish or Theodore...Leroy is on at odds 500/1...fancy a punt?

Heatherjayne1972 · 24/04/2018 20:31

As I understand it they have to seek permission from the Queen re names
If granny doesn’t approve it’s a no

NanooCov · 24/04/2018 20:33

Fuck right off. My son is Arthur and he is fucking amazing.

lalalalyra · 24/04/2018 20:34

undercoverbanana Maybe a bit, but it's been used a few times in the family since and Nicholas Windsor is old enough that there's a big difference.

Also, and it may be random, Louis and Alexander are strong names on Prince Philip's side - both his grandfather's were Louis, as well as his uncle, and his great-grandfather and nephew were Alexander. Nicholas was also used quite a bit on his side and was the name of Lord Mountbatten's grandson who was killed with him (which may rule it out depending on how superstious they are).

MikeUniformMike · 24/04/2018 20:34

Caspian?

Rainydaydog · 24/04/2018 20:35

*Surely we've arrived in the digital age and are ready for a royal name courtesy of namegrams.com, though?

Prince Philliam Colemarcus Lawrendallas Oscard Lowendrew of Cambridge?*

Yes a unique name is a great idea.

milliemolliemou · 24/04/2018 20:35

Not Nicholas. Mr Witchell doesn't need the tribute.

Dumbledore Stephen is an English king's name - 4th chappie in Norman succession.

Manic Richard killed the princes in the tower? many people think it was Henry 7th. The baby's father is related to both, so might not care.

Anyone else for Caspian? Vercingtorix is also pleasant. Llewellyn would be a nod to Wales ... or John to see if he can be nice Magna Carta John rather than fratricidal John. I fancy Edwin, too.

doctorcuntybollocks · 24/04/2018 20:36

Call him Prince as a tribute to Prince.

PinkAvocado · 24/04/2018 20:36

Arthur and George sound dreary together I think. George, Charlotte and Alexander sounds good to me!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/04/2018 20:36

Fuck right off. My son is Arthur and he is fucking amazing

Kidding right?

ShmooBooMoo · 24/04/2018 20:38

I reckon James or Michael with Phillip and Charles as extras...

MissDuke · 24/04/2018 20:40

I love Charlotte but I really don't like George, and Arthur and Albert are dreadful!

To be fair I hated picking boys names anyway, I much prefer girls names for some stupid reason Confused

I like Michael. Is there a reason it is to begin with A?

allchangenochange · 24/04/2018 20:41

I don't mind Arthur. You could do a lot worse.

nursy1 · 24/04/2018 20:43

I like Arthur. It’s suddenly having a moment as a name after the cute Arthur in the Chateau.

MissDuke · 24/04/2018 20:43

To those with little Arthurs - please don't be offended, I am sure there are plenty of names you don't like too! Surely you are glad every other child doesn't have the same name as yours? It would be dreadful if we all loved the same names!

TERFousBreakdown · 24/04/2018 20:43

Call him Prince as a tribute to Prince.

I'm genuinely willing to abandon my republican ideas and become a forelock tugging, bunting owning, street party throwing sycophant of a model royalist in exchange for a Prince Prince. Grin

leavesrfalling · 24/04/2018 20:43

Can't go wrong with Ralph. Solid, steady and dependable. ALL HAIL PRINCE RALPH!

RebeccaWrongDaily · 24/04/2018 20:45

i think he will be called John aka Jack.

nursy1 · 24/04/2018 20:46

I’m betting on Phillip ( known as Pip). It’s exactly the Enid Blyton sort of thing KM would do.

AhhhhThatsBass · 24/04/2018 20:46

Simon? Gregory? Bertram?

Undercoverbanana · 24/04/2018 20:46

Prince John Paul George Ringo.

Oh bugger - there’s already a George isn’t there.
