To think please not Arthur

It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

I'd love Louis!

Idratherhaveacupoftea · 24/04/2018 18:51

I love Albert, I know 2 Bertie's, both of them lovely.

FuckKnuckle · 24/04/2018 18:56

I think Kevin would be good. Prince Kevin.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/04/2018 18:57

YY to Edmund making me think of Blackadder

I think Freddie is a real possibility or Alfred.
I wouldn't rule out Arthur but think Albert is unlikely!

Louis and he could be called P-Lou

Gerhard or Ludwig as nod to their family roots

Or they could just pick the name of one of the Cambridge colleges like Emmanuel or Girton

Undercoverbanana · 24/04/2018 19:07

Edward Arthur Charles.

You can thank me later.

SevenStones · 24/04/2018 19:08

I like Edmund, suggested earlier in the thread.

I like Albert, but because of the Prince Albert I hope they don't go for that!

I like Arthur, too, a lovely name. My granddad was called Arthur, I'm glad lots of mums today are revisiting the name.

They've used Louis and Alexander already - I was so disappointed when George wasn't an Alexander, I think it would have been a good name to use.

I don't think they'll use the name of any royal alive as that would be too confusing, and a bit unfair on someone like Edward's son if they called him James.

They might go with Michael as a middle name after Kate's father. And I think Philip might also go as a middle name after Prince Philip.

There's already a Freddie Windsor, so think that will be out.

Ernest and Alfred are other possibilities.

CaptainCardamom · 24/04/2018 19:13

Undercoverbanana. Is that you Kate? :o

AgnesBrownsCat · 24/04/2018 19:14

Arthur is a fantastic name . I think it will be either Arthur or Albert ( Bertie ) .

Undercoverbanana · 24/04/2018 19:14

Stormzy JayZ Kanye Cambridge.

And why wouldn’t you?

Andrewofgg · 24/04/2018 19:16

Brian Boru is his forebear!

Themistocles Cato

Undercoverbanana · 24/04/2018 19:16

CaptainCardamon - Ssshhhh - don’t blow my cover.

HeartCurrent · 24/04/2018 19:18

@Undercoverbanana would Prince Stormzy go on to have trademark issues with his name? That would be so uncouth.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 24/04/2018 19:23

I'm thinking Prince. It's a simple and a classic name. #purplereign

DickensianHysteric · 24/04/2018 19:25

Grin Brian Brexit Cambridge

I want him to be Alfred, Freddie for short. Unless they're worried about Harry Potter jokes with a Fred and a George.

DaveswifeDawn · 24/04/2018 19:26

Edmund as bad as Arthur.

SofieMonde · 24/04/2018 19:26

Prince Jedward?

MyGastIsFlabbered · 24/04/2018 19:28

I've got an Albert but he's always known as Bertie, I think it's a fantastic name!

juneau · 24/04/2018 19:31

I reckon he won't be James (Kate's DB), Andrew, Edward or Charles (the last one because of Charlotte).

Arthur is horrid, I agree, but bafflingly trendy among the posh set.

Albert is rather nice, but he's not going to be that, for obvious reasons. Louis is also nice, but Edward and Sophie have a Louise, so maybe too similar.

I reckon Philip is a hot contender - maybe with Michael (her dad's name), in there somewhere.

HeartCurrent · 24/04/2018 19:33

Billies Faiers baby is called Arthur and the way she says it on the show goes through me.

PourMeAGlassOfMilk · 24/04/2018 19:33

YABU. I have an Arthur. It is one of the best names for a boy and very regal 👑👑👑

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/04/2018 19:37

Not Prince Michael because of the obvious confusion with Michael Jackson’s children Wink

Oinkypig · 24/04/2018 19:40

I going to put Francis, with Frankie as nn out there, it's Kate's fathers middlename

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/04/2018 19:44

Ah didn't realise there was a Frederick already.

I'm going back to Arthur then with middle names Michael Henry and James.

AgonyUncle · 24/04/2018 19:44

Arthur is a lovely name. It was considered an old person's name upto the 1980s/1990s but since then has become a very popular name

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 24/04/2018 19:44

Royal babies are always named after Weasleys, so if it's not Arthur or Percy it's got to be Ronald. I'm plumping for Prince Ronald.
