It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

Absolutely agree OP. I always think of Olive in 'On the Buses' whingeing 'Arthur!' when I hear the name.

I skimmed the bbc news page earlier and for a moment thought they had called him Lindo Wing. I thought it might have been one of those really posh names pronounced completely differently! Grin

LadyLapsang · 24/04/2018 17:36

Definitely think Philip will feature as a middle name, perhaps:

Edward Albert Philip
Charles Philip Francis (referencing both grandfathers and his great grandfather & of course Diana had Frances as a middle name too, although the female spelling)
Charles Philip Arthur
Frederick, James and Henry could also feature.

PerfectlyDone · 24/04/2018 17:37

Arthur is lovely and well due a come back!
What are you all saying?! Shock

I don't really care

Ohmydayslove · 24/04/2018 17:38

I like Arthur and Albert also Archie.

Artie would have been farty around here too Grin

allthgoodusernamesaretaken · 24/04/2018 17:39

Frederick

Amanduh · 24/04/2018 17:40

I think Arthur is 10000000 times better than Ryan!

MrsKoala · 24/04/2018 17:41

Arthur was on my list of boys names with Arty as an abbreviation. But DH wasn't keen for a boy. So it's dd's name instead.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 24/04/2018 17:42

They should call him Brian but I think they’ll call him Alexander .

PerfectlyDone · 24/04/2018 17:44

Grin @ 'Brian'

Or Kevin?

LadyLapsang · 24/04/2018 17:44

They can't call him Alexander or Louis because they used both those excellent names for George.

MissusGeneHunt · 24/04/2018 17:48

@Perfectlydone.... Hehe hehe!! Prince Gary, Prince Colin or Prince Percy. Oh OK, maybe not....

LarkDescending · 24/04/2018 17:51

Prince Rupert might have worked, but I think Kate has an ex named Rupert.

HeartCurrent · 24/04/2018 17:51

Don't like Arthur or Albert I don't think either go nicely with George or Charlotte, I prefer Henry (I know it's Harry's name but I just think it fits) Louie or Alfred.

SofieMonde · 24/04/2018 17:55

Prince Ruprecht?

HeartCurrent · 24/04/2018 17:56

Leopold?

MedicinalGin · 24/04/2018 17:59

What about Aethelred or Beowulf? I think they definitely deserve to have a hat in the ring and are underrated.

Topseyt · 24/04/2018 17:59

I like Arthur. Arthur James or James Arthur.

Or just call him Arfa.

Storminateapot · 24/04/2018 17:59

See, I did think maybe Albert (or Bertie) because the connotations completely passed me by. However, now I realise that's just not on I think it will be Arthur, Frederick or Alfred (could still be Freddy rather than a ubiquitous Alfie.)

Obviously I'd have gone Keith, Colin or Kenneth. Possibly Zayne, Kanye or maybe a lovely double-barrel job - Kylo-Blue?

AgentHannahWells · 24/04/2018 18:00

Can they call him Alistair? I think that would be nice.

Topseyt · 24/04/2018 18:01

Severus, or Albus.

Bramble71 · 24/04/2018 18:01

I agree over not calling him Arthur. I don't care how much young people today tell me it's back in fashion, its an old man's name. I hope they go for Philip or James, which aren't anywhere near as 'old.'

joystir59 · 24/04/2018 18:01

Philip Albert

BlueAnchor · 24/04/2018 18:02

Can they choose something more unusual? Thinking Prince Andrew did with Beatrice and Eugenie. Sebastian, Felix, Bartholemew?
