I want to start swimming but I only have this one piece but I don't know if it's appropriate for the local swimming pool. The cut outs don't show anything but the front one is down to my belly button. I only usually swim holiday so my other option is a swim dress.

as long as your boobs dont fall out! sounds like a fashion costume so may also disappear up your rectum or go transparent.

usable costumes are only about a tenner.

@specialsubject I it doesn't go transparent and It's good to swim in. I've wore it a lot abroad and it's my go to. but I am worried that I'll be too exposed with the cut outs and people will be offended by it.

I would, I swim in a (bra size type) bikini at my gym pool as swimsuits don't give me the boob support

If you are asking the question on here then you will also be questioning it while you are there and feel uncomfortable so buy a cheap costume that covers you up.

If it is your favourite holiday costume, it is going to get ruined swimming regularly in it. Pool chemicals just aren't good for clothes, especially fashion swimsuits. Get a cheap "proper" swimming costume and save your fancy one for holidays.

Just buy a new costume - you'll be worrying about it constantly when you are at the pool.

Are you saying you already own a swim dress? If you've got to buy something just buy a cossie.

Just go and get a plain costume. If you need more support go to Sports Direct and look at Speedo or other sports brands, or get one with built in cups.

I usually swim in a bra sized tankini. I don’t have the tummy for a bikini but plenty of people wear them at my pool (at a hotel).

if you are wanting to start swimming regularly and can afford it i would pick up a decent swimsuit as you will get use out of it and will so much more comfortable, decathlon do cheap ones or check out tkmax or amazon for zoggs/speedo suits you can pick up one for under £20 and they last ages

Buy a cheap sports cossie specifically for pool swimming, save the glamorous stuff for the beach on holiday. As other posters have said, you don't have to spend a fortune. I would imagine it is difficult to swim in a swim dress? Aren't they the cossies with an attached skirt?

Has anyone seen the pic yet? As a general rule if it covers your tits and vag then crack on.

Are you there to swim with cbildren/swim properly. If do get so etching that won't risk boob escapes. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

Generally nobody is looking at anyone else in s pool though op so I am sure no one will give a crap.

Buy a supermarket cheap one-piece, or from Decathlon or whatever. You'll feel like you fit in, and the investment will make you go more often.

I mean, it's fine to swim in whatever you like, but if you are self-conscious you'll talk yourself out of going as often, so I'd just buy a new costume to help you establish a new habit.

I've never understood the attraction of cut out swimsuits - useless for swimming in, danger of exposure every time you get up off the sunlounger, and crazy tan lines.

What's wrong with the last one? I've got one and it's my favourite.
