To get ragey at people booking seats for a flight

And leaving the window seat AngryAngry seriously if you're a couple book the inside two seats, it's so frustrating.

Also what determines if an infant can sit on a particular seat, I've just selected my seats for the flight and me and hubby have to sit one behind the other in window seats because my daughter apparently can't sit in that row 🙄

If you are paying to choose your seats then it’s perfectly reasonable to pick seats which meet your preferences!

If there were no seats to my liking then I wouldn’t book. Smile

8misskitty8 · 21/04/2018 14:09

When it was just me and Dh we would book the middle and aisle as I need to get up during a flight due to back and hip issues. No way could I be stuck in a window seat having to climb over Dh and a stranger or in the middle disturbing the stranger all the time.
So only way for us to sit beside each other was to book leaving the window seat free.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 21/04/2018 14:10

You'll REALLY hate me!
I book window and aisle, leaving middle empty...

Katjolo · 21/04/2018 14:12

Yabu

NotSureThisIsWhatIWant · 21/04/2018 14:13

You would hate me... I often play with the idea of booking a window and aisle seat for DS and I.

HarryBlackberry · 21/04/2018 14:13

My dh and I always book aisle and middle. I have bladder issues and need an aisle seat. So yabu.

FittonTower · 21/04/2018 14:13

I have super long legs, if i book i book the aisle. I don't mind moving for the people inside me to get out so they'll be no need to climb over me.

Amanduh · 21/04/2018 14:13

Yabvu and next time you get the middle/aisle seat I hope the stranger or couple in the window/middle seat climbs all over you and wipes their bogies on you.
See. Childish, isn’t it? Grin

expatinscotland · 21/04/2018 14:19

'seriously if you're a couple book the inside two seats'

Why should they? Because it's more convenient for you and your precious offspring? How bloody entitled can you get? You have no idea why the seats were booked by the passenger, it's none of your business, they have just as much right to a choice of seats as you and people don't exist to make your life easier. YABVU.

MorningsEleven · 21/04/2018 14:20

@ChipsAndKetchup

You stole the words from my mouth.

BewareOfDragons · 21/04/2018 14:21

You would hate us, family of 5. We book a row ABCD F, so children can take turns at 2 window seats, DH and I on aisles keeping an eye on everyone.

FittonTower · 21/04/2018 14:22

When i travell alone i tend to just take an allocated seat tho and I'm always in between a couple that books aisle/window combo hoping to get all 3 seats to themselves. Sometimes they get really quite pissed off that I'm there.....

PoorYorick · 21/04/2018 14:22

I love the window seat. Love the view and not having to move for anyone. I have a bladder the size of a beach ball so I rarely disturb anyone.

Oldbutstillgotit · 21/04/2018 14:23

But your DD is beside her Dad and you are - I think- directly behind them so what’s the problem? Am I missing something?

MrsLaurac · 21/04/2018 14:23

Always two aisles here too! The window seat although great for viewing is tight and I hate having to excuse myself to nip to the loos.

AlessandroVasectomi · 21/04/2018 14:25

I’d take the window seat if it would help you, but you wouldn’t have to mind my continual trips to the toilet if you and your family are the ones I have to inconvenience to get there.

BarefootMe · 21/04/2018 14:26

My DP has to sit in aisle seats wherever he goes, as 6'4" with very long legs.

Mari50 · 21/04/2018 14:27

On jet2 I book the seats that kids aren’t allowed on if there aren’t many seats left (and none together) and then you get moved as a family to a row together.

SoyDora · 21/04/2018 14:29

So you’re sitting behind your DH and child which isn’t ideal for you.
Having the window seat wouldn’t be ideal for us.
Why are your wants more important than the people who booked seats before you?

SachaStark · 21/04/2018 14:30

Same, Barefoot. My DH is 6'7", so he likes an aisle, and I like a middle so I can sit with him.

Boo to you, OP. You sound a right dick.

lifechangesforever · 21/04/2018 14:31

Those are for sky cots and are allocated to those with infants so the baby can lay down on the flight and not have to be on parent's knees the entire time.

You'd hate us going to Florida then.. at the moment DH and I have a window and an aisle seat booked and the middle is free BUT we are booking it for our unborn infant - people obviously don't see that at the moment 🙈 MIL & FIL have the 2 outside seats booked behind us, leaving the window seat.

No one wants to feel trapped in by a stranger so if you want particular seats then book and pay for them like everyone else.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 21/04/2018 14:33

I have travelled a lot in the past on my own and always booked the window seat now ds gets it Envy

Lots of couples get the aisle seats i think it’s sensible

I have got on the plane and a family (3) who wanted to together sat in our seats and expected ds and I to move

TerfsUp · 21/04/2018 14:33

YABU.

lifechangesforever · 21/04/2018 14:33

Ah just seen it's a Jet2 flight so probably not sky cots but will have specific life jackets, oxygen etc. So definitely U to be mad about that..

BeyondThePage · 21/04/2018 14:33

2 aisles here - one in front of the other. I have OCD and cannot bear - to the point of having a meltdown - others tapping/kicking on the back of my seat, so DH sits behind me. If the kids are with us we take 2x2 in the middle section. DH and one DD behind.
