To get ragey at people booking seats for a flight

And leaving the window seat AngryAngry seriously if you're a couple book the inside two seats, it's so frustrating.

Also what determines if an infant can sit on a particular seat, I've just selected my seats for the flight and me and hubby have to sit one behind the other in window seats because my daughter apparently can't sit in that row 🙄

We always book aisle and middle as a couple, I get up for the loo and lot and hate being penned into the window seat having to ask a stranger to move for me.

I bet you’d get annoyed if I left you an aisle seat and then asked you to move 3 times in a flight so I could get past too.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 21/04/2018 13:46

I like aisle seats so I book that whenever I can.

Sorry OP.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 21/04/2018 13:47

I don't understand why people not using the window seat would make you angry

there could be a passenger really pleased to have the window seat. bookings can't run on just your preferences.

Brokenbiscuit · 21/04/2018 13:48

YABVU! People can book whatever seats they like, and don't need to fit in with your preferences. I always ensure that I have an aisle seat. If someone is traveling with me, they would probably have the middle seat or the one on the adjacent aisle.

LifeBeginsAtGin · 21/04/2018 13:48

We get an isle seat as DH likes to stretch his legs out.

On our last flight there was a couple next to us at check-in - she was anxious as she didn't like flying and 'just had' to sit with her DH except they hadn't booked their seats and only single seats were left. How daft to have anxiety and not make efforts to reduce your stress. There's no helping some people. Hmm

TrickyD · 21/04/2018 13:49

If it is just the two of us, I book aisle and window, hoping that no one will want the middle. If someone does sit there we can offer to swap.

BalloonFlowers · 21/04/2018 13:49

The infant seats have, as already mentioned, extra oxygen masks (and life jackets, but thats easier to fix).
As a 4, we book 2 sets ofc2 when plane has 2 seat either side of the aisle, a 3 and the aisle opposite if 3/3, and the centre 4 if it's a 3/4/3 plane.
People have the aisle if the need easy access to the toilets, need to get up and down to walk often, are anxious, are a family of 5, and the other 3 are on the other side... loads of reasons.

It also looks like, from tgecamount of available seats, the infant ones have been held back, so maybe people have left the window seat as it looks like it's already reserved, because it's unavailable to those without an infant?

sonjadog · 21/04/2018 13:49

Also aisle and middle seat here. I like to get up and move around and always need to go to the bathroom. Also, I get less anxious when I can´t see out the window.

SatWaitingForATrain · 21/04/2018 13:50

We always, always book 2 aisle seats

WeirdAndPissedOff · 21/04/2018 13:51

YABU, but looking at the seats remaining I can see why you are frustrated!

NeedForBlossom · 21/04/2018 13:51

We are a family of 5, so if we are assigned across a row then that leaves a window seat.

happypoobum · 21/04/2018 13:52

YABU.

I don't understand what your problem is with the window seat? Do you have a particular problem with not wanting to be by the window? Confused

You re two adults and one child, it wouldn't matter if one of you were at the opposite end of the plane so long as one is with DD surely?

Idontdowindows · 21/04/2018 13:52

seriously if you're a couple book the inside two seats

Yah, not happening. Either 2 aisle seats or 2 outside seats. Not going to be climbing over a random stranger during the flight :)

Quimby · 21/04/2018 13:52

Like fuck am I paying for a window seat

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 21/04/2018 13:52

I started booking the aisle and middle seat for DD and I since we’ve had a few flights where the single traveller dozes off and we can’t get out to the loo.

ItsASairFecht · 21/04/2018 13:52

If I get the choice of seats I'll book whatever seat I like..that's why it's a choice! YABVVU (and I've never "said" that before).

ScattyCharly · 21/04/2018 13:53

I prefer aisle seats

fruitlovingmonkey · 21/04/2018 13:54

There are 4 oxygen masks in each row. If the seats left can’t take an infant, perhaps it’s because an infant is already booked in that row.

DwangelaForever · 21/04/2018 13:55

@Idontdowindows I hope the random stranger in your aisle climbs all over you like I will be with my pregnant bladder and my husband will be when he has to change toddlers nappy 😊

squashyhat · 21/04/2018 13:55

I prefer a window seat so that when it feels like the plane is bucketing about all over the sky I can look out at the horizon and see that it's really just jigging around a bit. Having said that I'm forever climbing over DH to get to the loo which I think pisses him off somewhat Grin

DidNotThinkItWouldHappenHere · 21/04/2018 13:56

I hope if being considerate is your main concern, you've gone for rows 10 and 11 rather than 4 and 5.

AornisHades · 21/04/2018 13:56

When I flew regularly I used to book a window seat. I took a sleeping tablet and would sleep against the fuselage undisturbed for the whole flight. So people booking the middle and aisle seats suited me nicely.

Sn0tnose · 21/04/2018 13:56

So you're cross that people are choosing the seats they like best because it interferes with you choosing the seats you like best?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me Grin

EightdaysaweekIloveu · 21/04/2018 13:57

YABu

DwangelaForever · 21/04/2018 13:57

@DidNotThinkItWouldHappenHere no because is better that my child is in front of me rather than across the aisle and between four strangers
