If the council in Windsor wanting to clear homeless out ?

I mean why don't the royal couple open a shelter instead given they are 'humanitarian' ?

I don't think any of the negative comments about Ms Markle, are in any way related to her race. Why would they be? What a ridiculous thing to suggest....Hmm

adorkableme · 13/04/2018 22:51

I agree. It’s sad really. You expect it a bit, but this much is astonishing. Some of the comments are downright nasty. Definitely, wouldn’t want to know what some of the posters say about people they do know.

Why is it that people tend to forget that many people in Hollywood actually had to work to get where they are and weren’t all born and raised into Hollywood dynasties. Her mother is or was (can’t remember) a social worker for years and a yoga teacher. She has done several magazine interviews about her life before she met Harry, talking about her home life and about her parents divorce, and the issues she has had to deal with.

I wish them luck as I would any married couple and glad I don’t have to deal with such comments like the ones I’ve read here. Heck, some of you come off worse than you are making Ms.Markle out to be. Can only imagine what personas strangers think of some of you vs how you think you come off.

Not a Royal wedding or any wedding fan ( but am a believer in marriage esp if planning to have kids) but think they should have invited top UK politicians. Only a handful mind you Teresa Jeremy Nicola whoever is head of The Welsh assembly. I'd leave out the NI crew as they are too childish to get their assembly running again and appoint a head.

@biscuitraider The murder rate in London now equal to New York

Actually, it’s more like the murder rate in New York is now equal to that of London.

I lost any 'interest' the day it was announced he was marrying a foreign actress

Yeah it's just not British is it?🙄

cheval · 14/04/2018 01:33

Well I’m a big fan of both of them. They will be fabulous ambassadors for U.K. and US. Have both lived through hard times, him, despite his privilege, losing your mother so young is harsh (as I know to my cost) and she has worked hard to become successful. I’m looking forward to it!

SaltireSaltire · 14/04/2018 07:01

Don’t know anything about Ms Markle, but I do know she’s worked for her living. It’s the royal family I object to paying for year after year. Their life of idle luxury is paid by our taxes while our Health and Public Services rot. It’s a nonsense in a so called democracy.

SaltireSaltire · 14/04/2018 07:14

cheval - losing your parent when young is a tragedy for anybody but it doesn’t give the right to live off taxpayers expense - otherwise an awful lot of us are due massive tax rebates!

The money consumed by this never ending family and their hangers on is a national scandal. Rent free living, vast unearned wealth, countless homes, private health and education and a bottomless pit of fawning sycophants manufacturing their image and publicity.

Frankly I’d rather have a fully functioning NHS and a fire, education and police service that didn’t rely on donations to fund them!

And to the people talking about racist undertones re Meghan - I think you will find it was a royal family member (Princess Michael of Kent) who wore the racist brooch and Prince Philip who is known for his racist ‘gaffs’ (as the royals see them).

abbsisspartacus · 14/04/2018 07:18

They are not clearing out homeless per say they are making sure no professional homeless are there on the day it will be a huge target for thieves etc

desertmum · 14/04/2018 07:21

we were overseas for the last royal wedding, went to a really small taverna in the mountains, only people there, sat outside enjoying the views and the wine and got dragged inside to watch the wedding with the owners (who we know as we go there a lot!). Narrative was in Greek so I could look at the dresses and not have to listen to fawning crap by some British reporter.

Iadmititimnotsuperwoman · 14/04/2018 08:01

Wow. I'm no monarchist and would happily see the whole establishment got rid of BUT the xenophobic (at best, thinly veiled racist at worst) tone of some on here is just disgusting. One thing I will say for Harry is that he's quite brave marrying her given the bigotry of many people here who seemingly can't just be happy for them.

SaltireSaltire · 14/04/2018 08:22

Funny that people attack Harry’s choice of a foreign bride. His grandad is Greek and his grandmothers ancestry is German.

I couldn’t care less who he married. I do care taxpayers will be paying so much of the cost of it and funding their lifestyle hereafter. Let’s hope Meghan gets a job in the real world and shows the rest of them up!

PrincessoftheSea · 14/04/2018 08:30

I would be interested if we got a bank holiday out of it

biscuitraider · 14/04/2018 08:52

Very brave considering he's a member of a family that's always been notoriously racist itself. The queen wisely keeps her thoughts to herself, not so Philip who's made some of the most hideous racist remarks i've ever heard. The queen mother was hugely racist and didn't care who knew it.......Awful family, i think the only brave one is Meghan herself for marrying into that family. If i was her i'd run for the hills.

Colonials and Natives wedding reception, anyone?

This is the soon to be grandfather in law to Meghan. What a charmer. Some people think he's funny, he's not. His racism is appalling.

SaltireSaltire · 14/04/2018 09:45

Philip is anything but funny. If he was employed he’d be sacked for representing his ‘firm’ that way. Yet - he’s supposed to represent our country. Mortifying.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/04/2018 09:49

a lot of anti-Meghan comments do have an undertone of racism, and there have been really aggressive racial attacks on other posters in the past for saying so

Could you give examples, please?

LaurieMarlow · 14/04/2018 09:56

Philip is anything but funny

Absolutely, I fucking hate the way people sweep his vile comments under the carpet. You get away with anything if you're posh it seems. Hmm

shins · 14/04/2018 12:05

That Gary Janetti Instagram is really grim, unfunny and misogynistic. Unless you find it hilarious to depict a four year old saying that Harry's "going to fuck a hooker" on his stag party or making fat jokes about his two year old sister, or reminding us how old and trashy Meghan apparently is Angry

dayinlifeof · 14/04/2018 15:08

Philip is far from pleasant with his racism. I wonder if anybody actually likes him, the royal family included; he went into hospital on April 4th and didn't have any visitors from the royal family until the 12th when Anne went to see him - why? (according to the BBC)

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 14/04/2018 15:12

Harry was far more interesting and fun when he was a perma-pissed squaddie who liked getting his kit off.

Humanitarian husband Harry is all well and good, but oh so boring.

biscuitraider · 14/04/2018 15:22

Regarding Philips disgusting racism, this is the trouble with having this unelected family as head of state. They seem to literally do as they please and don't have to account to anyone.Their arrogance and huge sense of entitlement is apparent in all of them. The queen clicks her fingers for more money for one of her palaces and hey presto, millions are suddenly available.

The rest of the world must think we're mad, bowing and scraping to them all. We've all been brainwashed to think we need them, we don't.

It probably says more about them than it does him.
