The police should have moved the flowers to an alternate location with anyone found either putting them up in the current location or vandalizing them in the new location being charged with breach of the peace, ensured that the elderly couple could have remained safely in their home with proper protective details and launched investigations against anyone reported to be making threats with arrests and control orders as appropriate.

The weak fence sitting statement they have produced may seem like it is the balanced position to take but it just makes them look weak and unable to act, which is exactly the wrong message to be sending out to either side in this issue.

Aeroflotgirl · 12/04/2018 11:22

They would be making their feelings known, and worse, if this happened to them,they would show them no mercy.

snowagain · 12/04/2018 11:25

@Frequency

Not normal to wish a gruesome death on someone

Not for you maybe..

Some people are within their rights to hope it happens and to wish it on them. You have no right to say people should not be allowed to think like this.

Shame you do not feel the same empathy and sadness for the 100's of victims of this scumbag criminal, and the 1000's of people who are scammed and terrorised every single DAY by people like this, and their vile, above-the-law communities.

I hope YOU never become a victim of them.

Now shooo, go hug a criminal!

stitchglitched · 12/04/2018 11:27

It wasn't a gruesome death, it was necessary self defence. Had his victim been killed instead, that would have been gruesome.

lostjanni · 12/04/2018 11:29

again agreeing with another post by @snowagain.
Been called fucked up and a piece a shit and a sick fuck by a few posters, but hey lets protect a criminal and his scum bag family.
I wanna clarify, i don't care what race or cultural group him and his family are from, all i care about is a terrified old man and women, a terrified community and criminal scum getting away with a life of crime.

“Some people are within their rights to hope it happens and to wish it on them. You have no right to say people should not be allowed to think like this“

Agreed. And you have no right to sat that people should not consider such thinking uncivilized, ignorant and bad for society as a whole.

stitchglitched · 12/04/2018 11:35

I don't really think having angry thoughts on the internet is as bad for society as the existence of Henry Vincent and his family.

snowagain · 12/04/2018 11:37

@lostjanni WELL SAID!

At least the people bleating this weird bollocks and defending scum are few and far between. MOST people are agreeing that he was scum, his family are scum, and he deserves NO sympathy, and no-one should feel sorry he is dead.

I make NO apology for saying I hope his family meet the same fate.

As many posters have said, it is time that communities like this who are above the law were dealt with. They have had their own scummy way for way too long.

@stitchglitched you are right, if Richard had not killed this scumbag, he would have probably died himself.

I would not hesitate to use ANY means, any force, and any weapon to protect my family. And if someone broke in and had a weapon, and I killed them in self defence, I would NOT be sorry they were dead.

Nope.

lostjanni · 12/04/2018 11:42

@snowagain. I can't believe this, agreeing with you again!
jesus are we the same person/

@lostjanni that is another stick you have given the apologists to beat us with .

They will be thinking we are the same poster!!!

GRRRRR! Grin

But yeah I do agree with everything you say too.

Mydoghatesthebath · 12/04/2018 11:46

Frequency

See I find your not pleased quite offensive. To be not pleased is realising you came have from thr shop and forgot the milk or laddrering your tights.

The fury now spilling over is that hideous crimes like this are being down played.

Not pleased isn’t really enough is it. 2 elderly lives ruined. Going into a house with a screw driver to rob and perhaps stab old people?? Nope not pleased isn’t good enough.

Mydoghatesthebath · 12/04/2018 11:47

As uncivilised ignorant and bad for society as a whole

So let’s get this straight you are applying that to other mums-netters and not the Vincent adults??

Wow just wow.

mygoditsfullofstars · 12/04/2018 11:56

It's easier to side with the bullies than confront them. This is nothing new, seen it a thousand times before.

Fucking hell, is this what it has come to? The police should be doing their job, upholding the law in an unpartisan way, not whimpering in a corner because they are scared of some criminals. No wonder vigilantism is on the rise.

BertrandRussell · 12/04/2018 12:00

“So let’s get this straight you are applying that to other mums-netters and not the Vincent adults?? ”

No. But don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story!

snowagain · 12/04/2018 12:01

@lagunabubbles

Well said snow. If I knew you I would buy you a wine Wine

Don't let the fact you don't know me stop you!!! Grin

lostjanni · 12/04/2018 12:01

@mygoditisfullofstars.
Agree, people say the vigilantes are wrong, that's fine then, let this family continue to ruin peoples lives and get away with no consequences.

OP posts:
GlueSticks · 12/04/2018 12:04

Vigilantism is just an excuse for more crime.

The police have said that nobody should interfere with a memorial. I personally think it was a really bad idea to place it there, but as it isn't a crime there isn't anything the police can do about it.

With the Lee Rigby memorial the police took the same approach - the flowers should be where the grieving family want them. The police simply do not get to decide which members of the public are allowed to publicly grieve for family and which aren't.

GnotherGnu · 12/04/2018 12:05

A generation of children the world over grew up when physical punishment was the norm and the age to leave home was 13. Millions didn’t turn to a life of crime

Millions don't turn to a life of crime now, so I struggle to see the point of this one. The problem is that if you grow up in a household where using violence is the norm, your chances of turning to violence yourself are significantly increased.

BertrandRussell · 12/04/2018 12:06

Some people are very jolly on this thread aren’t they?

mygoditsfullofstars · 12/04/2018 12:08

I'm not. They are walking an absolute tightrope in a bid not to inflame the situation- the last thing they need is the family kicking off.
The statement strikes me as a bid to make the family think the police are on "their side" while attempting to remain as neutral as possible.

This lies at the feet of the police in my opinion. They have allowed this sort of behaviour to go on unpunished for years. This has created a simmering pot of anger from everyone who has been a victim or has been treated differently by the police than these people. All these vigilantes tearing down the flowers are a symptom of and representation of everyone who is so sick and tired of this kind of thing being allowed to happen with the police turning a blind eye or making up a feeble excuse. If the police want to defuse the situation they need to start enforcing the law properly against these people and clamp down hard on all the different crimes they commit, particularly against the elderly and vulnerable. Otherwise the pot is going to really start boiling and I imagine more and more people will take matters into their own hands which be even more disastrous. What is happening with the police in this country is absolutely terrifying. It feels like we are moving into a lawless society.

Mydoghatesthebath · 12/04/2018 12:08

Who did you mean then? Who were you applying your remarks too.
