To sing an adapted version of Blurred Lines to my cat?

Cause she's my good girl?

She is my Cookie. My Cookie kitty.

I don't restrict my songs to Cookie. The others enjoy variants of My Humps. They are my lovely lazy lumps.

I attach a photo so as not to drip feed and you can assess my reason or unreason adequately. I welcome other suggestions and information on how else I could sing to them.

Genuinely not performance cat-servanting.

Yes! I've found my people!

When I'm feeding her she gets (to the tune of Save all your Kisses for Me)

Biscuits for tea
There's lots of biscuits for tea
Yum yum Flora'sCat, yum yum

When she's hanging around her bowl and it's not feeding time she gets (to the tune of No Limits by 2Unlimited)

No no no no no no no no no no no no there's no biscuits
(and then I usually give her a Dreamie anyway)

A real low point of my life was singing (to the tune of Firework by Katy Perry)

Flora'sCat you're a firework
Let them go meow, meow, meow
As they shoot across the sky

And realising the curtains were open, the window was open and a cool-looking blond person staring at me with a look of naked pity

ForgiveMeFatherForIHaveGinned · 11/04/2018 13:11

Oh my god I love you all, and now feel the need to start singing to my cat!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 13:25

I think you may be right SpringNow!

MissWilmottsGhost · 11/04/2018 13:34

I sing all sorts of songs to my dog, substituting various versions of her name in them. Glad to hear I'm not the only crazy one!

And like pp, I dance with her.

I start dancing and then she gets all excited and joins in Grin but she is old and finds it hard to get on her back legs now so I don't do it much Sad

ScreamingValenta · 11/04/2018 16:25

My cats love the muh nuh muh nuh song, but then they are strange little things Grin.

callmekitten · 11/04/2018 16:58

I don't sing to mine but I do leave the football game on T.V. for them if we are watching at someone else's house.

I will also sometimes call them and leave a message if I'm going to be home late so they don't worry about me.

smithsinarazz · 11/04/2018 17:37

HAHAHAHA

At Christmas I like to sing (to the tune of "We three Kings"
Oh, Mog of wonder, Mog of shite
Mog that's always in a fight
Always needs feeding, always pleading
Never goes to sleep at night

My other favourite is "Respect" by Erasure with all the words replaced by "meow". It suits the high bit - "meow-ow-owwww..me-ow-me-ow-me-ow...ow-ow-ow-ow-eeeeeeeeee!"

(I sing to the baby as well. My favourites are "What shall we do with a naked baby" and "If I had a willy, I would wave it in the morning, I would wave it in the evening " etc

Spangles1963 · 11/04/2018 18:24

Yes this is totally normal OP. I often sing to my cat. My latest offerings have been a selection of Beatles songs. They are as follows:-
You gonna lose that cat.
You gotta hide your cat away.
Norwegian Cat.
I knead you.
A hard day's cat.
Can't buy me cats.
With a little help from my cat.

She's not impressed. Sad

Dunkling · 11/04/2018 18:35

I sing a Top Cat version to my cat Bob...... Bob Cat.... leader of the gang! He's the top he's the tip, he's the champion kit, he's the most tip top, Bob Cat. He tolerates me.

PistFump · 11/04/2018 18:40

I miow the Eastenders theme tune for my kittos. I also miow the Miow Mix song to them because that's their favourite:

DeltaG · 11/04/2018 19:11

Haha, I'm not the only one then!

I've slightly adapted Prince's 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World' to sing to my cat; have done it for the past few years!!

Historydweeb · 11/04/2018 19:12

Yabvvvvvvvvu......

If you were not to sing to your cat or dog or any other pets

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 11/04/2018 19:12

To my dog I sing ‘Smelly Dog’ (adapted from Smelly Cat as sung by Phoebe from Friends) and ‘Dumb Dog’ (out of Annie)

DeltaG · 11/04/2018 19:20

@FloraPostIt

Lmao @ the 2 unlimited adaptation, definitely stealing that one!! Grin

Ollivander84 · 11/04/2018 19:25

I just tried the 2 unlimited on my cat. He did huge goggle eyes at me and stalked off. Not a fan apparently!

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 11/04/2018 19:58

I belt out Tom jones at them 'what's new pussycat? Woooahhh, pussycat pussycat I love you, yes I do, you and your pussycat nose...

They hate it.

karmacoma1 · 11/04/2018 20:03

Absolutelynbu.

One of my cats has her own version of men in Black as her song Blush

Gatekeeper · 11/04/2018 20:06

We sing to the tune of Teachers Pet (Doris day)

Fluffy Fur
Sherlocks gooooooottt fluffy fur
Oh yeah ooohooohhh fluffy fur
Wayhayyyy oooiooo fluffy fur

Etc

TheDailyMailLovesTheEUReally · 11/04/2018 20:09

I sing to the dogs; an amended version of Denis Leary's "You're an asshole"

You're a shitbag (woah-woah, woah-woah)
You're a shitbag (such a massive shitbag)

Grin
Gatekeeper · 11/04/2018 20:13

The lad himself

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 20:40

TheDailyMail

S. H. I. T. B. A. G. You're a shitbag... Grin

ForalltheSaints · 11/04/2018 21:06

I would think anything from the musical Cats.

I don't sing to cats, but find they are not keen on my French. Even in France.

TheCatofAthenry · 11/04/2018 21:12

I also sing don't be fooled by the mouse that I caught, I'm still I'm still Cookie from the block.

And to the tune of Postman Pat: Cookie cat, Cookie cat, Cookie cat is my black and white cat.

OP posts:
AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 11/04/2018 21:15

@ForalltheSaints yes! I invite mine to the jellicle ball often, but they never fancy it so I have to dance around the kitchen on my own.

Snooks1971 · 11/04/2018 21:17

Always done this Grin

ATM we are singing various songs from The Greatest Showman and substituting cat's name for pertinent words

Eg A Million Dreams... are keeping me awake.....
Turns into 'A Million (cat's name) are keeping me awake....'
Although, paradoxically, she doesn't ever keep us awake, but we then discuss what would happen if there was a million of said cat?? And go down a convoluted scenario as if it might happen in reality.

We need to get out more!!
