Snow - police have trouble from some travellers. I'm sure they do. They also have a lot of trouble from some white British people and some black British people and some Polish people, and plenty of others. It feels unfair (racist) when you tarnish a whole commuity based on the acts of just some of them.

The police are standing guarding bunches of flowers because they're scared of upsetting the travelling community and because of what they may do... not because they're good decent people. Can you really not see that?

I have read this whole thread. Nobody, not one person has said they feel sympathy for the man who died and that is exactly as it should be.

Some people have pointed out that rejoicing in a violent death is indecent and uncivilised. This is nothing to do with being ‘PC’ it is simply the way people should behave in 21st century Britain. Many people on here are behaving as if we are in 19th century Naples.

The man who killed the intruder had every right to do so. Nobody would argue with that. Nobody in this thread has argued with that. But killing a man is s serious thing. Even soldiers in wars understand that and they suffer mentally for it. Ask any soldier this. They don’t rejoice at killing.

I am seriously concerned for our society. It has changed. The British used to be rational and decent and trusted our police. What kind of people screech in happiness at a violent death and call the police ‘scum’ ?

If the family can behave inappropriately, I’d behave even more inappropriately. When will they get the message, no one wants to remember their theiving son except them, so do it alone and in private so that the victims of the rat can get on with their lives.

Nothing to do with his ethnicity as I really couldn’t care. My only experience of so called travellers was a huge amount of rubbish left in our village as they left and the very young girls at the local shop being petrified and abused by middle aged men.

Criminals are not defined by race ethnicity or color but sometimes hide behind this to escape justice. Like the bankers hiding behind their wealthy lawyers and the Rotherham paedophiles hiding behind the Muslim religion and making themselves untouchable.
