To find floral tributes being left for Harry Vincent offensive

This is an attempt to intimidate the innocent family. Flowers should be removed - isn’t it littering?

OP posts:
carbuncleonapigsposterior · 10/04/2018 18:15

Elendon have you read about some of the crimes this family has committed, conning an elderly lady out of her life savings and then getting her to sign over her home worth 150,000, conning a veteran out of his medals, charging another pensioner £70,000 plus to replace a roof tile which should have cost around £50. Boasting about their crimes on a FB forum saying the stupid old bastards deserved losing their money. Wicked acts. The fact that the police have advised this couple they can't go home tells us a lot Angry

TSSDNCOP · 10/04/2018 18:15

Beryl he’ll bounce right back; you see he’s pictured in a god knows how old shot holding a couple of pints.

miffytherabbit1974 · 10/04/2018 18:15

@Elendon

If you read my previous posts on this thread, you'll find I have rigorously defended the traveller community and diaspora in all of my observations.

I can't tell for sure, as your posts seem a bit confused, but it would seem I am defending the same position as you. It is simply the case that I did not understand the link made between paedophiles and Harold Shipman in regards to this burglar.

If it is the case that you are claiming I am racist, then I can only say in response that you really need to do your homework and properly read a thread before you throw such offensive epithets at other Mumsnet members.

Mydoghatesthebath · 10/04/2018 18:15

Elendon

Your last post was so so nasty.

My dad is my mums cater she has altzimers and he has chronic health issues. He likes a stout.

You are an apologist for this man and are vilifying a elderly victim of crime.

You throw around insults calling posters racist.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Springiscoming123 · 10/04/2018 18:15

I hardly think that someone pictured sporting two pints of stout is elderly, aged or vulnerable

omg thats a low blow

Elendon · 10/04/2018 18:15

You have an unhealthy obsession with vulnerable, aged pensioners Creambun2

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 10/04/2018 18:17

Muttmad - can well believe it, exactly the same happened to my brothers quad bike and chainsaw, he eventually paid the cousin of the guy who'd nicked it £50 to bring them back 😂 police said they wouldn't enter the camp without a riot squad.....

stitchglitched · 10/04/2018 18:17

Elendon has form for going off on bizarre tangents. But having digs at a victim of crime for his fb photo is beyond the pale.

sheldonesque · 10/04/2018 18:17

I cannot help but worry for the poor victims in this.

And that does not include the deceased.

I care not that people are angry that he is being painted a monster.

I understand if some want to mourn. But do not mourn there. They need to remember he was out robbing. Bad enough he was robbing but robbing pensioners. Tooled up. Making someone feel vulnerable enough to lash out.

Not someone to be proud of. Someone's daddy? Someone's son? Yes. Someone's thieving daddy. Someone's pensioner threatening son.

Put simply, he wouldn't have died if he hadn't broken into that house.

Quit with the heart of gold shite. My unforgiving dark heart thinks it is one less thieving git breaking into homes and terrifying the occupants. One less arsehole thinking it is his right to blithely steal what someone has worked hard for.

How is that not a good thing?

Helmetbymidnight · 10/04/2018 18:18

Surely many people, including victims of road traffic accidents, die in hospital. But we don't do the put plastic bags of flowers at hospital entrances yet, do we?

Maybe that'll be the new trend.

Mydoghatesthebath · 10/04/2018 18:18

I have disagreed with Miffy earlier in the thread but to call her racist Is utterly obscene. She was defending the travelling community.

Elendon · 10/04/2018 18:19

I'm hoping this racist thread gets withdrawn.

I've no truck with saying what I have said.

How can anyone agree with the OP?

It's a springboard for racism. As is very evident!

WowLookAtYou · 10/04/2018 18:19

I don't know very much about travellers and their culture, but I do know that they take their mourning rituals extremely seriously. The cemetery near us has several massive, and I mean massive, shrines to revered family members, with extensive amounts of gleaming marble and hundreds and hundred of pounds worth of fresh flower arrangements regularly replenished. The funerals themselves are big affairs.

So, I don't think the volume of floral tributes here is particularly the point; however, I agree that the issue is where they have been placed and that it's fair to assume that it is deliberately to make a point.

EB123 · 10/04/2018 18:19

No matter who you are if someone breaks into your home with weapons in that situation you are vulnerable.

miffytherabbit1974 · 10/04/2018 18:20

Is it just me, or has this thread spiralled through a tear in the space/time continuum into another bizarre alternate reality, or has someone slipped some LSD into my cup of tea?

TSSDNCOP · 10/04/2018 18:20

You have an unhealthy obsession with vulnerable, aged pensioners

And on a thread of crazy, that comment wins stupid post of the day.

Mydoghatesthebath · 10/04/2018 18:20

Elendon

I mean this nicely I hope you get the help you deserve.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/04/2018 18:21

I'd like the Police to put a stop to this, but I realise they are in a difficult position.

Why? What's difficult about it? A street and an elderly couple are being intimidated and bullied? Why should the police not put a stop to that?

Elendon · 10/04/2018 18:22

And yet you do seem to know a lot about them WowLookAtYou

Honestly?

TSSDNCOP · 10/04/2018 18:22

The OP didn’t start a thread inciting racism FS, if you have issue with comments report to MNHQ as you’d be right to do.

Why would you start a thread like this though? If not to incite racial hatred which is evident throughout this thread.

WowLookAtYou · 10/04/2018 18:27

And yet you do seem to know a lot about them WowLookAtYou

Sorry, but I'm not getting your point. I don't think that an observation from the local cemetery, plus local anecdotes (one of which was from a funeral director) about traveller funerals, makes me an expert, no. Is it wrong that I acknowledged that?

Lweji · 10/04/2018 18:27

I don't have a problem with the OP, per se, either.

Yes, travellers take mourning seriously.
Yes, placing flowers where their relative died could be seen as threatening, particularly if there have been actual threats. Not sure they care how it's perceived even if not meant in that way.

But I don't like how some pp have mixed this specific family with the entire community.

stitchglitched · 10/04/2018 18:27

FGS it isn't inciting racial hatred to start a thread about something which is currently one of the main news stories in this country.
