This is an attempt to intimidate the innocent family. Flowers should be removed - isn’t it littering?

I think the reason the 'community' is being discussed is because that is where the threats and intimidation is coming from. He was part of a large criminal gang and has a number of relatives who are calling for revenge to the point where this man's victim and wife are now displaced from their home and under police guard. If he was just some lone petty thief none of this aftermath would be happening in the first place, it is precisely because of his community and their ethos that it is.

I'm totally confused now. I'm trying to join the dots between between a serial killer of several hundred people and a burglar with a quick detour via paedophiles.

Is the "one scumbag less" the only thing these three types have in common, or have I missed something else?

But the police are not really in a difficult position. They can prevent an act of vandalism in the case of the fence, and they can act upon complaints raised by residents of intimidation. They can discuss with the council a spot away from the scene where the career criminal didn’t die for mourners to lay tributes until he’s actually buried.

Or they can let the friends and relatives of the dead career criminal continue, which would say what to the innocent victims?

Elendon I thinks it’s fair to say that if the dead career criminal had stayed home that night with his loving family rather than embarking on an aggravated burglary on old aged, vulnerable pensioners his fate might have had a brighter outcome don’t you?

I don't think I called anyone racist or were you suggesting I called people here racist (clue: I haven't said anyone on this thread is racist. If you can find me using that phrase here, I'd be interested to see it). To be honest, your posts are so confusing I can't tell whether you are for or against the actions going on at this spot where flowers are being left.

I've never been called racist before, ever, by anyone, so that's a novelty. Neither have I called anyone here on Mumsnet racist.

I was genuinely confused by your comment about Shipman and paedophiles. I still don't understand it. I understand your following response to me even less. But hey-ho!

The innocent victims are Mrs Osborn and now her neighbours. I’d bet all the money in your purse too that Mrs Osborn wishes the dead career criminal had stayed home that night too don’t you?

Your stance on traveller comments is valid, but to defend the actions of the dead career criminal is just silly.

This man was also a career criminal who made his living conning and robbing elderly victims, as does his father, and several uncles and cousins. I don't see how Harold Shipman is relevant.

The innocent victims were the couple who have had their lives turned upside down by someonw who commited a crime against them. The man who was forced to defend himself and his wife by two men, one armed with a weapon breaking into their home. Who cannot now return to their home because credible threats have been made.

The mans children are also innocent victims, it isn't their fault that he is their dad and I am sure they adored him.

Maybe though if you arnt but feel it’s quite ok to point out that whisper it anyone of any colour, ethnicity and community can comit crimes and then hope to hide behind these 3 things to get away with their evilness.

So mentioning shipman his doctor credentials and white middle class status, like Rotherham their ‘Muslim’ religion and the police and social worker prejudice calling white working class girls slags, like the travelling community the mysogynistic expectations of women and girls,

If pointing this out gets you to shout racist that says more about you than me.

I hadn't realised the dead man was from the travelling community. That's going to be an interesting funeral. Traveller funerals are usually quite lively events at the best of times (with the obvious exception of the funeralee).

I can't see how that poor couple will ever be able to return to their home. In my experience this type of traumatic stress in people that age very often precipitate a sharp decline in their health.

Oh just realised you were arguing on the other thread that 78 wasn't old too. Because you know someone that age with 25 year old twins or something. I didn't realise drinking stout was an indication of someone's vulnerability.
