To be massively pissed off with the Airbnb host?

We rented an Airbnb for a week somewhere nice and warm.

The description of the place banged on about how private it is and how she'd never come round and it not overlooked by anything.

The owners manual says 'please put bins out on Saturday'. That's it.

So aibu in thinking she should have fucking well mentioned the pool guys coming on a Monday?

Dh had taken ds off shopping so I was have a lovely relax on my own (for the first time since I got here) and removing some unruly minge hairs on the sun deck. I hear a chuckling and look up and there's one horrified looking pool guy and one horrified yet amused looking pool guy staring at me. Angry

I'm fucking mortified. I hadn't heard them turn up so have no bloody idea how long they'd been there. I was wearing a sundress but no underwear and I'm hoping to God they didn't see too much.

Now I'm hiding inside on the last day of my bloody holiday hoping they bugger off quickly. AngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Erm, most people shed a pube or two from time to time so pool water is never entirely pube free.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 09/04/2018 23:22

Fucking hell, you're making me question my air b&b use.

Minge shedding on someone else's poolside is fucking grim.

Claireshh · 09/04/2018 23:23

Our family holidays have always been villas or air bnb’s. The pool guys always turn up as do Gardner’s. It’s standard.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 09/04/2018 23:23

This has cheered me right up.

starsandstuff · 09/04/2018 23:23

(All I can hear in my head now is Phoebe singing "Little Black Curly Hair"...)

bustedwomb · 09/04/2018 23:27

OP you are a disgusting mink to do this on your own deck is vomit inducing but to do this on a deck that doesn't belong to you is just disrespectful and seriously yuck. Some things are meant to be done in private indoors!

BMW6 · 09/04/2018 23:34

You Minger !!!!!

TotHappy · 09/04/2018 23:41

What the fuck?! It's not that gross, just embarrassing, what the fuck is wrong with you people? Calling her a disgusting, vomit inducing minger is definitely not on

Queenoftheblitz · 09/04/2018 23:44

Op I don't see the big deal about a few minge hairs, I'd get the tweezers out myself. Patios get washed and brushed down, minge hairs fly away.

Flampingu · 09/04/2018 23:45

@FlibbertyGiblets

No, how nae Nair unfortunate Grin

ProblematicWonder · 09/04/2018 23:50

Regardless of what you were doing(!) I can appreciate that it would’ve been nice to know if someone was going to be there.

As a PP has said, the owner may not have thought to mention it, as she wasn’t visiting personally and ultimately, the pool maintenance would be a benefit to you and could just be one of those things that is to be expected.

Mumontherocks1 · 09/04/2018 23:53

OP what removal method are you using? I'm totally with you on the shaving/veet removal. My legs can't tolerate either and the regrowth causes me an agonising rash. The only option for me is waxing.

Freudian · 09/04/2018 23:57

When we have rented villas, a gardener would normally come round daily in the morning to water flowers and scoop any leaves from the pool. It never really bothered us, but then we save personal grooming for the bathroom or salon.

AjasLipstick · 10/04/2018 00:03

Ew...this is why I'd NEVER be a host for one of those sites!

snewsname · 10/04/2018 00:04

It made me laugh anyway.

Tottyandmarchpane1 · 10/04/2018 00:04

People on this thread are bonkers/sitting behind a keyboard so can be as nasty as they like. The point people is that the pool guys turned up unexpectedly and the air bnb people should have said they were either coming Monday or would come at some point in the week if they did not know when. We all know anyone would be annoyed at this aside from the mumsnet massive. Also - what is it about pubes that are grim? I mean really I genuinely don’t understand. People shed hairs and skin all over the place so what is it about this that makes you have this overreaction?

Mumofkids · 10/04/2018 00:11

The reactions on here are very odd. The lady thought she had privacy, who actually cares what she was doing? What people do in private is their business. If her husband and son were returning she would most likely have heard them chatting or her son running or something, it's not really a big deal.
Does she have a right to enjoy what she thinks is privacy in rented holiday accommodation? Yes I think that's fair.

angryburd · 10/04/2018 00:20

wtf

To be massively pissed off with the Airbnb host?
FairiesVsPixies · 10/04/2018 00:20

Good job the pool maintenance guys turned up, in case all those stray pubes blowing in the pool, blocked the filter Grin

blueduvetface · 10/04/2018 00:24

I feel more sorry for the poor bloody pool guys than me.

DS has seen a baby be born, I'm pretty sure he's been party to me removing various body hairs too, I don't think it'll scar him that much.

I hope to God she doesn't leave anything in a review, they've all been great up until now. GrinGrinGrin

blueduvetface · 10/04/2018 00:27

But really, what if it was just dh and I and we were having a shag by the pool (unlikely seeing as the moon has to be at exactly the right stage and all of the other planets need to align too but you never know)?

I wouldn't have even minded if she'd said 'oh just be aware there are guys that will pop in at some point in the week'. We've all been walking around naked a lot of the time. Then dh wouldn't have found it as funny.

OP posts:
MagneticMan · 10/04/2018 00:35

Oh well, no harm done really.

You won't be seeing the pool blokes again.

Pool blokes are unlikely to report back about your pubis plucking.

Pool is unlikely to clog up with the stray hairs.

Good reviews will be left by both parties I'm sure, and you can mention it in your feedback if you're too embarrassed to speak to the owner about the unexpected visitors.

blueduvetface · 10/04/2018 00:38

Pool blokes may well be blind.

ObiJuanKenobi · 10/04/2018 00:45

I can't bring myself to comment on the al fresco fanny fiddling but whenever I've stayed in Spanish (not sure where you are) villas I just expect the pool maintenance people to arrive spontaneously. In our usual villa it says they'll come Tuesdays but they tend to just come when they please.

SickofThomasTheTank · 10/04/2018 00:46

You walk around naked in front of your son?

I do agree you should've been told though
