Just curiosity really about different areas wages and bills etc.

Would you share;

  1. what part of the uk your in.
  2. what type job you do (just if it's low level, management etc)
  3. your wage
  4. your rent / mortgage
  5. what size your house is.

I'm in Yorkshire,
I am in a semi skilled job and earn a 22k salary if I work full time hours (39 hours a week)
We rent a 2 bed terraced house for £390 a month!

I've seen loads of people saying they spent 1k or over a month on rent in various parts of the country and I've been absolutely gobsmacked! That's almost my entire wage!

Oh jeez why are people giving out their private info

PickAChew · 01/04/2018 15:16

I'm in Durham and you can rent a 3 bed for under £500 in many parts of the county. We own a 3 be semi in the city, though and our mortgage is a manageable 550pcm while smaller 2 or 3 bed houses in the same development are being rented out for 950+

EvergreenElle · 01/04/2018 15:16

London.
I earn 35k a year, DH is self employed but takes home roughly 40k a year after tax.
Mortgage is £850pcm on a 4 bed semi, but we bought years and years ago. To rent a 1 bed flat in my area is £1200pcm. Crazy.

LaurieFairyCake · 01/04/2018 15:19

Cumbria ( cheap part) , professional + sahp, 55k, mortgage paid off but was about £400, 4 bed semi

HeadingForSunshine · 01/04/2018 15:23

The questions are meaningless without context.
SE
Professional
Huge house by most standards
No mortgage or rent

Without knowing our age, quals, how many
people live with us, whether there have been inheritances, etc, it's meaningless.

Exactly. ‘Yorkshire’ is enormous, it includes Harrogate and York (both pricey) and Dewsbury and Rotherham (much cheaper).

No I wouldn't. Because you're just bloody nosy and we all know that prices/wages vary across the UK. It is NONE of anyone's business.

gearandloathing · 01/04/2018 17:16

What's wrong with people being nosey on these kinds of posts?
I'm at a loss as to what anyone could do with the info i provided, I kept it deliberately vague and I've nc'd recently.

If people don't want to post, they won't but I don't understand the posters who post just to say 'its none of your business!'
