Just curiosity really about different areas wages and bills etc.

Would you share;

  1. what part of the uk your in.
  2. what type job you do (just if it's low level, management etc)
  3. your wage
  4. your rent / mortgage
  5. what size your house is.

I'm in Yorkshire,
I am in a semi skilled job and earn a 22k salary if I work full time hours (39 hours a week)
We rent a 2 bed terraced house for £390 a month!

I've seen loads of people saying they spent 1k or over a month on rent in various parts of the country and I've been absolutely gobsmacked! That's almost my entire wage!

OP posts:
turnipfarmers · 01/04/2018 12:28

@Eveninghare does this mean you now have to shoot us?

MaMisled · 01/04/2018 12:28

I'm part time middle management. £17,000. Hampshire. Housing Association rent is £496 p.c.m

Forevertired19 · 01/04/2018 12:29

Feel like reporting this.. If you're so interested in an area pick one you like the look of and look online. Zoopla have previous house prices.

This seems like an invasion of privacy..

ilikebread · 01/04/2018 12:29

NW. I earn £50k husband earns around £500k, 4 bed detached house worth around £500k - we could afford a lot more than our house but we love it and we don’t need anymore than that. Any savings go into our pension, giving to charity or into our stocks.

EveningHare · 01/04/2018 12:35

@turnipfarmers i wish you hadnt said that....... oh man!

sinceyouask · 01/04/2018 12:38

Would you share;

  1. Manchester
  2. Social worker
  3. c£28k
  4. £500
  5. 2/3 bed terrace, quite run down, damp issues. Landlord hasn't raised rent in over 5 years. Houses in same street now rent for c£700.
sinceyouask · 01/04/2018 12:41

These details are useless to anyone, ffs. Manchester is a big place. My job is no secret . Social work salaries are publicly available information. My house description fits that of many thousands of people. If you can do anything that will actually matter with what I have posted above I'll be surprised.

Would you share;

  1. what part of the uk you're in. West Yorkshire, near enough all the motorways to be able to make a quick get away
  2. what type job you do (just if it's low level, management etc) a very strange and interesting that no-one has never heard of and takes me all over Europe
  3. your wage enough

  5. what size your house is. big enough for our needs and shabby enough to legitimise being able to afford an expensive hobby and multiple foreign holidays each year without having people think I'm engaged in criminal activity.
Babyplaymat · 01/04/2018 12:57

Doesn't bother me, I name change regularly and what possible harm could this info do me?

  1. South Coast
  2. I don't work at the mo, DH in chartered professional role
  3. DH around £50k
  4. About 650 but we overpay
  5. 3 bed rural semi on big plot
Viviennemary · 01/04/2018 12:57

No I don't think I'd be prepared to share this information online. And it's a waste of time anyway because people can just make up a tale. It usually ends up with everyone trying to outdo each other. Oh. It already has. Pathetic.

Babyplaymat · 01/04/2018 12:58

And all of this could be fake, who knows. 😁

polkadotpixie · 01/04/2018 13:01
  1. Leicester
  2. I work in accounts FT and have a second job (retail) at the weekend. My husband is a self employed gardener
  3. £21K in my main job and about another £2K from my second job. My husband earns a lot less, probably around £11K
  4. Our house is shared ownership. We pay £246/month for the 40% we own and pay £230 rent on the remaining 60%. We used to pay £525 rent on our previous house though so it's good to be on the property ladder Smile
  5. 2 bedroom new build semi. It's tiny though
BarbaraofSevillle · 01/04/2018 13:01

If you're referring to me Vivienne, every word of my post is 100% truthful.

Uniglo18 · 01/04/2018 13:02

South
Mortgage £800 with over payment
£60k joint income

Viviennemary · 01/04/2018 13:03

I wasn't referring to anyone in particular. Hadn't even read your post when I wrote mine. But I have now.

AmysTiara · 01/04/2018 13:03

Most of the people merrily answering the ops many questions probably tell their kids not to give any information online. Confused

Bluesmartiesarebest · 01/04/2018 13:12

I'm in the Uk.

I don't work apart from catching a few mice. Last night I ate a moth which made me happy.

I don't get paid unless you count a few stupid dreamies which make a change from the usual muck they feed me.

I don't know what my home is worth, but I do my best to make it nice by scratching furniture and leaving fur around. They complain a lot when I cough up hairballs on the bed.

They paid a lot for me to have my own bed but I ignore completely as I prefer the box it came in.

wendz86 · 01/04/2018 13:13

I pay just over 1k a month rent for a 2 bed house in Hertfordshire . I earn just over 30k for 4 days a week as a manager in a professional job in London . I’m a single parent and receive housing benefit as I have high childcare costs.

eurochick · 01/04/2018 13:15

Fascinating as this is, I can't believe people are volunteering this information. I was about to suggest they give their dob too and then I remembered the thread yesterday asking if you shared your birthday with a famous person.... hmmm.

Forevertired19 · 01/04/2018 13:17

@euro :o..
Essentially a dob thread yesterday by the same OP? Oh my gosh!

Forevertired19 · 01/04/2018 13:17

Why do shocked faces come up as smilies?

Blaablaablaa · 01/04/2018 13:17

Saddleworth (seriously inflated house prices) , I earn 39k , DH earns 59k, both work full time. Mortgage is £1,100 for a 4 story Victorian terrace with no parking and a small garden.

Chose to have a relatively short motagage term as DH is older than me and we don't want to still be paying a mortgage when he's retired

hushnowthanks · 01/04/2018 13:25

Yorkshire over here (waves)

I work 3 days in professional role.
OH works full time and has his own business.

Our joint income is £60,000.

We pay £500 a month on an ex-council property in a really desirable commuter area. This is a really interesting thread because I’m desperate to move and need to convince him that we can afford it (we have around 70k in equity).
