The thread continues....if it hasn't continued elsewhere! @Lateforall it was me who questioned Lobella loves depression wears lippy campaign. I get that the idea is that being a bit glam might be a way of coping. And i have been guilty of putting my face on to carry on in the world. I get that not everyone with pnd is sat at home in pjs unshowered with greasy hair. But I just find the whole thing so false on her account - maybe that is because I know of her in real life.

But I think so many of them have massivley over exaggerated aspects of their lives because it sells. Whether that is FODs clumsy parenting or whatever. But it really doesnt sit well

Mumofkids · 01/04/2018 22:07

Jam- we did just trying not to do anything to set it off.

Mumofkids · 01/04/2018 22:08

Is allergy's method to make sweeping statements that are often wrong then disappear for hours to never acknowledge she was wrong or rude? Hmm

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:08

Oi oi Jam. Actually you're right it's a shthole. That's why I left. What the actual fck are MOFOD doing there?

jamoncrumpets · 01/04/2018 22:09

Well I'm shutting all your butts down now because I'm going to bed

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:09

That's the one mumofkids. It worries me what she's plotting 😱

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 22:10

It just made them less relatable...... Ukip land.

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 22:11

IsthisAWindUp that depends on your content and engagement, surely?
If you have, say, 800 followers.
That's not a lot in the grand scheme of things really. If it's genuinely engaged mums/parents/etc,that comment on and like your stuff, it's noticeable to brands. It could be a hobby and not a business.
Not buying any likes or comments or followers,as that stuff stands out a mile.
If you have a strong social media presence, not a big one, but an engaged one who comment on your stuff, brands notice and pick up on stuff like that.
(Obviously if you did start getting stuff sent then you would need to declare it an ad.)

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 22:12

Getting competitive are we Fruitbowl2? I work hard, earn a decent salary, feel good about it AND I do something worthy!! Think I might even become an IGer and share myself with the world 😂😂😂

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 22:13

But apparently its where all the well to do from London are moving to. Not a option for me though. Non white people are not welcome there.

Mumofkids · 01/04/2018 22:16

@areyouinthegame 😱

PavlovaPrincess · 01/04/2018 22:17

That's awful @Areyouinthegame

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:19

Gosh that's a bit much inthegame. Have you ever been there?

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:20

Chocolate teapot you win! 😆

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 22:21

I think its the whole ukip stuff . yes been Margate on days out. And people just stare or were rude to my kids just for sharing the space in a restaurant really. This is just because of our presence not rowdy kids or anything.

IsThisAWindUp · 01/04/2018 22:25

I still don’t think you’d attract brands at that sort of level. I had a friend who had a hobby and a blog and sold handmade products. Her blog started attracting a few brands and she reviewed stuff on it (always disclosed and this was a good few years ago). She’s still active on SM but doesn’t promote the blog or sell the handmade stuff any more and still has nearly 4000 followers. This was years ago, before influencing was a thing. She wouldn’t even register now in such a competitive market with so many people aspiring to do this (look at the big bloggers feeds and so many of the comments are from small wannabe bloggers). The market is saturated. Brands can pick and choose from hundreds of people so you have to have the numbers as well to stand out which is why they work so hard at it.

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:25

Inthegame bloody hell im sorry you've experienced that. I don't actually know any ukipers so I'm not aware of that vibe in Ramsgate.

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:28

Having said that there is definitely an uncomfortable relationship between people who have always lived there and wealthy DFLs (down from London). Resentment because of poverty mostly. That aspect isn't race related.

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 22:29

Yes, me too Areyouinthegame - that is absolutely disgraceful and I am so sorry that there are such racist wankers polluting our streets.

DownstairsMixUp · 01/04/2018 22:29

I live in Herne Bay and go Thanet a lot and agree actually, there's a lot of racism here and it's the worst part of this place. I'm a 'down from London' and honestly that's bad enough, it's like I've moved from another country Hmm

DownstairsMixUp · 01/04/2018 22:30

Oh and not that would be bad, just making a point of how shit things are here. If you aren't from Kent born and bred you should piss off basically!

Fruitbowl2 · 01/04/2018 22:31

I should also point out that I left, swiftly, when I had the opportunity.

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 22:33

Its not something I dwell on. Just accept it as a part of life @teapot @fruitbowl2
