I hate them.

Have you tried Necerello olives? They are the round bright green ones with the pits left in.

amusedbush · 31/03/2018 20:10

Mmm, salty, delicious olives. I buy the biggest jar of green olives available in Tesco and I eat them with everything.

fizzytonicplease · 31/03/2018 20:11

We love them, DS 3 often asks for them as a snack

pinkmagic1 · 31/03/2018 20:13

The dry black, Morrocan ones are the best.

OnlyAmy · 31/03/2018 20:19

My cat begs and cries for Kalamata olives. I only give him a half of one, a couple times a week, because I don't think he needs the salt. And, it works out to just 13 mg per half

PinkAvocado · 31/03/2018 20:21

I started liking olives around the same time as I started to like houmous and Port. I don’t drink Port now but I could eat olives every day!

Coriander is utterly vile on the other hand and even the tiniest amount is detectable and will ruin everything it touches.

burblish · 31/03/2018 20:22

Spanish queen olives are straight from heaven, especially with preserved lemon rind. Salty paired with tangy - what’s not to love?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/03/2018 20:23

Sainburys used to do the most delicious olives in basil ........................and now they don't . Angry

Considering boycott of Sainsbo .

If you're talking about the purple ones that taste like vomit, YANBU.

If you're talking about the Green ones YAB (a bit) unreasonable.

If you're talking about the black ones that aren't at all bitter then YABVU.

Shipshapeit · 31/03/2018 21:42

Agreed op.
Olives are vile.

Puffycat · 31/03/2018 21:44

Horses for courses my dear!

Fluffyears · 31/03/2018 22:39

They are an acquired taste. I used to hate them but love them now.

RyvitaBrevis · 31/03/2018 22:46

They're my favourite food!

Surely no need to eat them to be polite -- a waste of a good olive Grin

Kokapetl · 31/03/2018 22:47

My toddler loves them. If you have a dish with them in she will pester until you give her all of them. She eats all of hers as soon as possible- picking them out first.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/03/2018 22:51

Mmm... olives, especially as below on a Greek salad (but hold the onions), and preferably eastern in Mediterranean sunshine.

Coincidentally, I've just the evening seen 'Art' at the Lowry, which features some wonderfully aggressive olive eating by Nigel Havers, Dennis Lawson and Stephen Tompkinson.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 31/03/2018 22:53

I cant stand the texture. My DC love them but for me just yuck.

elQuintoConyo · 31/03/2018 22:58

ARBEQUINA OLIVES ARE THE MUTT'S NUTS sorry for shouting.

I had nearly a whole jar at lunch today Blush with olive oiled bread Shock random selection of cheeses and hams/sausages (chorizo, fuet, morcilla). Fucking lush, pardon my Latin.

jaimebravo · 31/03/2018 23:03

YANBU. I love all food, i turn nothing down...but olives are funky, I tried on them on a few occasions but I cannot acquire a taste for them.

littleteethies · 31/03/2018 23:05

Love them!
My last meal would a huge plate of spaghetti alla puttanesca, loaded with olives, anchovies and capers. Salty, oily heaven.
and a bottle of Nero d’Avola

MimpiDreams · 31/03/2018 23:07

My DD used to cry if I put them on her her plate and ask me why I'm trying to make her eat eyeballs.

Mumsturn4 · 31/03/2018 23:09

I love olives and so do 2 out of my four children-what’s not to like?

snop · 31/03/2018 23:09

I also used to hate them, but now I can't get enough of them

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 31/03/2018 23:13

Gross gross gross
They belong in room 101 with capers, gherkins and goats cheese.

goforkyourself · 31/03/2018 23:29

If you eat seven olives (force yourself) you'll like them.

I used to hate olives but I love them now. I'm also verry drunnnk Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 31/03/2018 23:44
