Just that really 😊

We live v rurally so we go to the local pub as a way to keep in touch, otherwise we don't see anyone. When DP is here...(he works away a lot) about once a week together though he may go several times. before I came along it was every night
Also a quiz once a week at another pub.
Him - beer, me, Fevertree tonic or orange juice and lemonade (or Appletise - only soft drinks but not sickly J20s)

ememem84 · 30/03/2018 18:11

Once every couple of weeks I suppose. I have wine or g&t. If I’m driving then sparkling water. Or Diet Coke

physicsisfun1 · 30/03/2018 18:15

Once a week on average. I drink rosa and ice or prosecco and ice. I can’t stand it even slightly warm.

Wallabaloo · 30/03/2018 18:16

Never.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/03/2018 18:16

Once every couple of years? Fresh orange and lemonade for me.

BonnieF · 30/03/2018 18:16

A couple of times a week. I’m a proper beer geek and I love sampling new beers and supporting independent local breweries Smile.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 30/03/2018 18:17

A couple of times a month to eat. I drink coke if I'm driving or will have a fruit cider of I'm not driving. If I went to the pub for a night out (very rare) I would drink vodka, lemonade and lime or cocktails and prosecco depending on who I was with.

MrsJBaptiste · 30/03/2018 18:17

We go most weeks or so with friends. I have a few large glasses of wine 🥂 and DH has a few beers🍺 Kids have diet coke and J2O.

bsbabas · 30/03/2018 18:18

I normally do a big shop at aldi and with no kids at home crack open a freezer cold bottle of whisky and some cocacola. Don't like drinking at the pub can set you back sixty quid especially with taxis

TheSconeOfStone · 30/03/2018 18:20

Once every couple of months. Usually drink wine at friends houses. Pint of decent cider if a quiet drink or cocktails if it’s a big night out.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/03/2018 18:21

Never

AbsoluteGonk · 30/03/2018 18:21

Thanks for replies.
Haven't been in a pub (except on holiday) for years.
Now DD is more independent DH wants the two of us to start going to the village pub once a week.
Not much of a drinker and don't like coke or fruit juices (prefer a cup of tea) but might give G& a a go,

Depends on the weather.

We don't bother going much when it's cold and wet, but in nice weather we'll probably go most weekends to somewhere on the beach or with a play area.

I'll have a nice pint of Stowford if they have it. If not, I'll settle for Strongbow.

OakIsBetterTho · 30/03/2018 18:23

Not often enough anymore, love the pub. In the winter by the open fire, and in the summer just killing time in the beer garden. Aaaah. Probably once every couple of weeks. I used to live a mile from the most gorgeous local country pub and was in there too much probably two, even three, nights a week. Ah to have that much money, time and inclination now!
I'll either get a southern comfort lemon and lime, a bottle of bud, a Pinot Grigio or a Guinness and port. Depends on my mood 😂

AbsoluteGonk · 30/03/2018 18:26

So is G&T fairly inoffensive for a non drinker?

OP posts:
Sashkin · 30/03/2018 18:28

We usually go for Sunday lunch, stay for 3 hours or so. I might have a half pint or two, or might just have an orange juice and lemonade. Husband has 2-3 pints, but his alcohol tolerance is a lot higher than mine - I can’t even finish a whole bottle of beer to myself at home.

BarryTheKestrel · 30/03/2018 18:28

Before kids, probably twice a week. Now, very rarely.

Drink: Gin and Lemonade, Lager, wine, cocktails, cider, depends on who I'm with.

Sashkin · 30/03/2018 18:29

You could just have the tonic. Or most pubs that do food will do you a pot of tea or coffee.

MissMary0fSweden · 30/03/2018 18:30

At least once a week. At this time of year we bag a seat near the fire and do the quizzes in the pub paper. Oh yes we know how to party.

I don't drink alcohol so I'll have soda water, or a pineapple juice. Very occasionally an alcohol free lager.

AbsoluteGonk · 30/03/2018 18:32

And do you sit there and ... erm ... talk to each other? Or to the other locals? A game of dominoes or do you MN on your phones?

OP posts:
lanbro · 30/03/2018 18:34

Hardly ever go to a pub but go out in town once or twice a month. Drink either gin and tonic or cocktails, stay away from prosecco now as makes me too drunk too quickly!

Moominfan · 30/03/2018 18:34

Never

C0untDucku1a · 30/03/2018 18:37

WE go on christmas day for two drinks in between opening presents and our meal. We also walk there for a drink a coupke of times in summer.

Sashkin · 30/03/2018 18:37

We chat, or do the crossword together, or watch the rugby/tennis, or sort out house things (so I might take the iPad so we can research new windows or look at holidays).

For us it is a way of spending blocked off quality time without one of us running off to do work or housework or watching TV. Definitely no Mumsnet I’m afraid.

Davros · 30/03/2018 18:38

Don't go to the pub and sit looking at your phones! We would talk to eachother, meet friends or maybe you could try the pub quiz to get to know some other regulars. We go about once a month, although I love the pub and would go more. DH finds it quite noisy in the evenings so we're more likely to go at lunchtime or early evening, around 6pm and be leaving before the racket takes over. I have a few pints of Guinness and DH tries to keep up with whatever the latest Dogbaiter beer is in. It's in walking distance
