Following on from Instamums 3.2

OP posts:
CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 15:55

Even when I returned to thread, you purposefully posted and pasted a small section pretending it meant something other than it did just to swerve off topic.

What bit? Haven't pretended anything. Confused
I follow a lot of different Instagram accounts. Not the ones that keep on being brought up though.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 15:55

@buck there's been a huge shift since the #ad and there's been very little about MOD, and no bitching. If she's open about ads, her account is far less child heavy, I agree with the if you don't like don't follow.
FOD he is a big influencer, if people want to discuss his use of children in that, then why not?
Instamums, it's a new business phenomenon. It will get discussed.
Unfortunately due to the nature of her picking actions and highlighting everyone, the fact she's been agreeing is list, there's just aggressive attack, attack, attack. And it loses any relevance.

EllaLavella · 31/03/2018 15:57

Does anyone else get irritated with the way that some Instamums are just so prissy in the way they talk/behave? 'Prissy' is the only way to describe it. There's lots of trying to talk in as posh a voice as possible and saying twee little phrases in said twee voice. One instamum was talking about 'hitting the Jeans Jackpot' the other week, and this is the kind of twee thing I mean.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 16:00

No one has said they don't like instagrammers, there you go again just making bizarre assumptions. Like when I inferred FOD was a bit goon-like and therefore I must dislike him why not unfollow.
He's goon like in his Mr Bean/Alan Partridge persona. I'm happy to watch him but will equally say if he seems to be dicking about. (No I didn't call him a goon or a dick) it's like you have to cover every little thing you say or that will be the focus.
It's just too mind numbing.

TakeMeToTheFresh · 31/03/2018 16:04

Does anyone here follow The Home That Made Me?

She seems less interested now she's made her money Sad

PavlovaPrincess · 31/03/2018 16:06

I agree @Mumofkids there's no discussion anymore unless the topic has been personally approved by CadyHeron.

They either agree with a tiny of bit of the post or get incredibly irate if they don't and start calling everyone bitchy and childish (oh, the irony!).

They're definitely not discussing or debating, let's be honest. In fact, I actually think they've finally killed any real discussion. They've done a superb job of me-railing what was an interesting thread.

I'm sure when SofiaLemon rejoins it later on it will just be the two of them nodding along to each other's points. I mean after all, (according to themselves) they're the only sensible posters on here.

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 16:09

They're definitely not discussing or debating, let's be honest. In fact, I actually think they've finally killed any real discussion. They've done a superb job of me-railing what was an interesting thread.

If you actually read the thread, you'll see that we were points were discussing and debating points that had come up.
The only derailing is coming from people who reply with insults, crying with laughter emoticons etc.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 16:11

@pavlovaprincess it's just non stop. Killed it off successfully.

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 16:13

Killed WHAT off? The thread has stayed on track as to what you all said it was supposed to be about in the first place!
You're all worried about the ad transparency, the welfare of the children, and we've been discussing that.
It's coming across as just a cover to slag off and be bitchy, and you (general you) don't like it when people stay on topic.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 16:19

Some posters are definitely way too obsessed, it's quite worrying. Heavily overinvested in a little corner of mumsnet trying to have bit of discussion and there's these completely obsessive controlling posters who just dominate every inch copying and pasting. There's no excuse it's for instagrammers benefit, they've barely got a look in the last 10 pages as it's all about CadyHeron tearing apart every poster that comes on. And god forbid someone suggest whether products sold are above board or whether it's legitimate. That's no Ines business because CadyHeron says so.
Everyone's just bitching. Because discussing accounts changing is just bitchy too.
Yep you closed it all down. By yourself. Without even Sofia.

PavlovaPrincess · 31/03/2018 16:20

@Mumofkids I know, it's bizarre.

For someone (cadyheron) who talked about the thread police way back on another thread they've done a damn good job of policing this one and letting us know what we can and can't talk about and how we should be responding to posts (NO emojis people!!)

Tedious in the extreme.

jamoncrumpets · 31/03/2018 16:22

Instamum checklist, feel free to add your own contributions:

Selfish Mother sweatshirt (preferably captioned 'Winging It' but 'Mama' will do)
Tiba + Marl backpack (not the peasant Mamas and Papas collab one, the real £135 deal)
Tripp Trapp highchair (is there any other highchair out there that would do?!)
Stokke or Yoyo buggy (pushed with lovingly manicured nails)
Boden breton (Boden anything, really)
Red lipstick (you've GOT THIS, Mama!)
Space Mask (for 'max relax'
Method cleaning products ('my whole house smells scrumptious!')
Scamp and Dude sweatshirts (for the kids)
Yes Mum inspo cards ('I am the best mother I can be')
Any craft/small batch gin ('gin o'clock!')
Home painted in dark Farrow & Ball colours ('style it dark')

And how much of this essential kit do you think is actually paid for by the influencers themselves?

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 16:23

I'm not policing anything. I've been discussing. Very few people seem bothered about the actual subject though, so I agree it does come across as me me me me a bit.
You want to not engage with points and just bitch instead? Fine, knock yourself out then. Crack on.

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 16:23

sorry, that was to pavlova, the thread moves quickly.

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 16:26

On that list I think they only pay for the paint

laurahill88 · 31/03/2018 16:28

The main points of the disclosure has been settled as far as I can tell and is down to the ASA to regulate not Mumsnet users.
The featuring children is something that is down to personal opinion and really discretion of the parent/instagrammer

jamoncrumpets · 31/03/2018 16:35

What's that laurahill88?! We can't regulate influencers just by posting about them on Mumsnet? Well that's it, I'm OFF THEN.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 16:36

Perfect list Jam and agree just the paint. I wonder why it is all so dark and grey though. We recently moved into a dark decorated house and it's now driving me nuts and so depressing!

jamoncrumpets · 31/03/2018 16:38

You get an Instamum point if you own anything on that list (double points if you blagged it for free). I have two points. Grin

laurahill88 · 31/03/2018 16:41

@jamoncrumpets i think these thread would have been over a year ago and not been on number 4 if more people understood that Hmm report to the ASA if you feel that strongly!

Sofialemon · 31/03/2018 16:44

I'm back! Totally nothing to do with whatever it is this thread is supposed to be about. But does anyone on here follow these?

www.instagram.com/our1930sfixerupper

Not an instamums account, it's an interiors/reno account and I love Ross & Ian.

Sofialemon · 31/03/2018 16:46

Just so I know and don't bore you or try to "derail" what is the topic of this thread supposed to be?

laurahill88 · 31/03/2018 16:47

@sofialemon seeing as this chat is now discussing everything and anything - yes I love them! Bring back Tunage Tuesdays

danielleparry · 31/03/2018 16:47

@jamoncrumpets I am howling 🤣

jamoncrumpets · 31/03/2018 16:51

DanielleParry I just don't know how anyone can possibly parent a child or practice self care without those tiny expensive business cards with captions on them in 'arial rounded'. The Milk ones are my fav. I can mantra my tits into functional udders!
