Following on from Instamums 3.2

OP posts:

My daughters were both out for the day so I've had a rare day spent mostly lazing about with DH.

I've only followed the last couple of these threads and the bloggers threads. I find they usually turn into a criticising instagrammers thread. There's only so much that can be said about transparency and "child exploitation".

I could go back through the threads and copy and paste comments (some made by posters on this thread) that I personally think are very bitchy and unnecessary but I can't be bothered.

allaboardtheallergybus · 30/03/2018 23:11

I was referring to pavlova, mumofkids, whips and fruitbowl

Endless endless snipey ‘look at me on my moral high horse’ starting threads about issues that yes some are valid. The rest goes into super personal and unverified comments.

We need a round up and end so that if you want the instagrammers to change and become more transparent they can see what valid comments have been suggested.

The rest is often nasty and off topic

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 30/03/2018 23:13

Have to agree with Sofia here, it does seem that if they reply here all is forgiven even if they are advertising babysitting apps and knorr Wink

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:15

Thanks allergy. You've been on the threads too. I'm away working. I have an actual proper job. I time record so I am fully accountable for my work time. Happy Easter to you.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:16

I did suggest that hours ago allergy.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:18

I don't care what they advertise if they are transparent.

I never found out who Rhonda was.
I'm signing out now.
In the hope that gifts will be declared as ads.

PavlovaPrincess · 30/03/2018 23:18

Love you too allergy 😘

Glad you're always on these threads to show us how it's done.

Doubt we'll be seeing much of you over Easter because you'll be spending time with your kids instead of the Internet, so have a good 'un, lovely.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 23:19

Take your money, enjoy it....you're the mother of 4 girls and, really, that's your best effort

Mums are allowed to be people too.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 23:20

I never found out who Rhonda was.

I still kind of want to know who Rhonda is too!

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 30/03/2018 23:20

That’s funny.... there were endless replies saying how the babysitting app was a terrible idea! Thay it was really irresponsible. But suddenly it’s ok when someone who has engaged in the thread is promoting it.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:20

You were on the bloggers thread allergy. And you were really aggressive towards me.

MadameGrizzly · 30/03/2018 23:21

MOD has commented in AIBU and Style&Beauty. I'm still not feeling she is 'getting it' or has been given a free pass by MN!!

AlisonPerry hasn't commented on these threads but she has taken comments onboard. She rarely shows her child anyway.

A couple of more fashion/interior instagrammers have just had babies - while I don't mind seeing a tiny newborn occasionally, and understand how besotted parents are with their firstborn, I hope they don't become instamums.

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 23:22

@allaboardtheallergybus I don't think I need to explain myself again (I didn't have to in the first place) but actually I have never really taken part in discussion on here to this degree, as I have never had the time. But it has not occurred to question why people are here and shouldn't they be out with their kids for Easter. Your name has cropped up quite a bit. And if I hadn't been discussing I wouldn't trawl through 23 pages just to have a pop, so I find it a bit weird you would do that. You can only know I've been on the last few days by reading all the posts. Do you have nothing better to do?

To be honest throughout the course of this thread my opinion on MOD has changed quite a bit. I think that has reflected in comments. I think overall people have a lot more respect.

FOD is a somewhat different topic. His account is definitely more of a business set up.

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 23:22

I honestly think that both threads are just a place to be able to slag off bloggers and instamums under the pretence of discussing transparency on instagram.

If I'm honest I actually preferred insta before all the fuss about transparency. I don't want it to become like the US insta. I get that the ASA guidelines need to be followed but I'd rather it was done as discreetly as possible. I appreciate I'm in a minority on here though.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:23

Not from me Buck. I don't care what they advertise if it's transparent.

And for the record I have never said anything negative about their parenting.

PavlovaPrincess · 30/03/2018 23:23

Nobody said the babysitting app was a good idea even after MP said she was going to advertise it.

It's a terrible, terrible app and I don't for one second think that any of the bloggers think otherwise let alone actually use it. It's definitely a case of take the money and run but so long as they mark it as an ad, then that's down to them.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:24

Boom and there you are Sofia. 'I don't care'.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 23:26

I honestly think that both threads are just a place to be able to slag off bloggers and instamums under the pretence of discussing transparency on instagram.

Absolutely this. Don't know who it was who said it. but there's only so much that can be said on the issue of ad transparency/child safety that it professes to be about in the first place.
Some seem intent on tearing down or slagging off and not interested in discussion at all. Just glad for a thread they can post under the guise of "being concerned about the children and ad transparency."

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 23:27

@buck nope the babysitting app idea is terrible.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 23:27

*Boom and there you are Sofia. 'I don't care'

Confused
FleaRiddenScruffBag · 30/03/2018 23:27

@CadyHeron - yes, until they monetise their children, sell out for freebies and lecture the rest of us on parenting skills. I work in adult education with young adults and witness first hand the pressure social media has over them. Easily dismissed but a very real cause of social anxiety for so many young people.

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 23:28

Sorry did I leave you out Heron.

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 23:30

@Fruitbowl2 you've lost me.

Cadey yes they definitely use these threads to slag off various instamums. I can't fathom why anyone would waste their time following people they either dislike or have no interest in. I actually don't know who a lot of the mumsnetters posting on here follow as they won't say.
