And still, despite MP staying the facts.People on her post are still not getting the point.

Greenhouseonthehill · 27/03/2018 15:03

That’s a good point Roly, I think you’re right there. I actually thought a lot of people would appreciate information about PND. After all, being called out for free holidays isn’t trolling and shouldn’t be compared to someone potentially receiving negative comments when discussing mental health.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:03

Vulnerable people with pnd shouldn't be putting themselves out there on social media. Trolls are different to someone pulling up a instagrammer who isn't clarifying ads and gifts.

Collywobbles1984 · 27/03/2018 15:04

MPs post goes completely over MODs head, who then posts about her 'skincare regime' without an #AD anywhere to be seen!🧐

Mumofkids · 27/03/2018 15:05

MOD's tactic of focussing on haters and name calling is just that a tactic, that she's clearly been advised to do as it's consistent. Yet we know she's read things and not responded, particularly regarding her children and their over exposure. FOD professes to not care but clearly does. As described before though, of you look at social blade, the attention on here causes peaks of new followers and with MOD gaining 24000 a month and FOD 34000 they simply do not need to care. By limiting comment they are in a bubble and are probably just hoping they rude this out and there gamble on money/child safety is one they win.

Softkitty2 · 27/03/2018 15:06

Unless the ASA heaviliy scrutinise, regulate, fine, penalise social media personalities when they don't disclose #ad #gifted or whatever # then they can continue to disclose however they see fit because there are no consequences.

Mumofkids · 27/03/2018 15:06

Ride not rude 🙄

Mumofkids · 27/03/2018 15:11

It is quite a phenomenon that people with really good well paid jobs (FOD, Mr Meldrum etc) are giving up or moving away from their safe jobs to risky money with a loss of privacy and security and exposure of their children. Most people who step into fame do the opposite and protect their children.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:16

Privacy is so undervalued. The price paid for selling it in return for free holidays and clothes is very high. You can never get your or name taken off google. Hmm Parents flogging out unconsenting children on a whim for 15 minutes of fame. I think they will live to regret their decisions.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:17

Or face*

pineapplefritter · 27/03/2018 15:17

If anyone does want to see some lovely accounts - seasonal tales. littlelivinglifestyle and welcometolifewiththepownalls are very nice.

RunMummyRun68 · 27/03/2018 15:20

Yes let's hear about the smaller sensible and realistic accounts!

Mumofkids · 27/03/2018 15:21

@stellastartsitall my teens go nuts if a photo from 5 years ago comes up on Facebook! I don't post there now. But I get a 'how could you?' Or my daughter at college had a load of friends trawl through photos online and take the piss (before her braces etc) it's a tough work out there. Angelic toddler twins are 1 thing,?older kids another. I can only imagine that once fame gets in claws into you, you change and lose sight of the important things. And MOFOD are intriguing as they are both doing it.
FOD used to cycle to work and had an office, someone commented he was taking a break for Instagram and his book, is that true or hearsay, is his work from home IG?

Softkitty2 · 27/03/2018 15:31

I agree if the older children refuse to be featured and they should be heard and not be posted on social media.

However for the babies/younger children they have consent parental consent. Lets be real here children can't consent for most things in everyday big decisions, their parents do it for them, surely that applies here?

The morality of it is another discussion.

However, what is concerning is the lack of privacy in terms of random people knowing where these people live, schools they go to etc etc etc

Mumofkids · 27/03/2018 15:41

@softkitty2, isn't that really what's being questioned. The unregulated choices these parents are making for their children? MOD saying in Grazia 18 months ago that her then 8 or 9 yr old was questioning how many likes a photo had got is grotesque.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 27/03/2018 15:42

Genuine question, who sort of people actually buy promoted products from ‘insta mums’? It all seems a bit, well, sad.

HeyRoly · 27/03/2018 15:46

How did mod get a dm from someone who hasn’t set up their IG?

Well Babaloo, I was going to suggest that this mum with PND maybe didn't exist, but decided against it Grin

PavlovaPrincess · 27/03/2018 15:48

The unregulated choices these parents are making for their children

Exactly. I don't think concerns should have to be brushed to one side just because the parents have decided they're within their rights to plaster their kids all over the Internet in exchange for money and holidays.

I don't like it when celebs do it (i.e Jordan and Peter Andre in their reality shows). I don't think any better of the instamums for doing it either, and I think we should be allowed to say so.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:52

I definitely admit to being influenced by them and felt under pressure to have all the top baby stuff. I didn't realise they had been given them for free. (Though I was aware of the ploy by bugaboo who raised their profile by gifting celebrities their prams many years ago) But I started following mod when she was midwifeyhooper and had my daughter 5 days after her twins. Was new and naive to Instagram. I didn't realise that a small profile on Instagram was riddled with freebies and ads. Of course I was easily swayed to buy things I didn't need. I soon wised up. After that holiday to Corfu.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:55

Looked up destinology holidays thinking that's within my budget but woah 7k just for a week at the villa and I knew there was something stinky. Queried the company if it was given to them for only for them to delete my question.

mammyoftwo · 27/03/2018 15:55

Just read MP's IG post, was impressed that it seemed to contain some balance. (I've recently deleted IG, so just googled it).

The blogger etc responses are "interesting".

With a professinal background in psychology (inc forensics) I have major concerns re child protection risks associated with including children in public social media posts.

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:55

MarshaBradyo · 27/03/2018 15:56

What do people think is ok re dc?
On social media but not for advertising?
On social media but private settings only? Etc

Stellastartsitall · 27/03/2018 15:57

I don't understand why people want to be deceived.... I just can't get my head round all those posters who keep telling me I shouldn't care if its declared or not.
