To ask how many bras you wear in a week?

Please help settle an argument? My 13 yr old has just asked me for more bras, she has 6 (plus a sports bra) so 7, and likes to change them and wash them after each wear. I think this is utterly ridiculous, I change mine every 2/3 days, she thinks i’m minging.

To complicate it she’s a small back but already in an F cup so it’s quite difficult and expensive to get a bra for her. So just wondering what everyone else does?

I wear matching lingerie set every day so have new bra and knickers everyday.
Sometimes I will change again for the evening if going out.
I wash everything after one wear.
But I Adore lingerie... Spend a lot of money on it and get great pleasure out of wearing it.

GeorgeTheHippo · 24/03/2018 20:37

will settle during her 20s and then probably increase in her 30s and most definitely in her 40s.

I'm 47 and the same size I've always been.

KittenBeast · 24/03/2018 20:39

but I do find people who only chance their pants once a day more than minging.

Sorry, what? I put on fresh pants at about 7am, and I take them off when I put my pj's on, how is that minging? Are we all supposed to change our knickers half way through the day? Unless you've had an unfortunate accident I can't see the reasoning behind this.

moomoocar · 24/03/2018 20:41

@chocolatesun 😂 I was thinking the exact same....I'm off to put a delicates wash on!!!

OriginalGeordie · 24/03/2018 20:43

See if I’m buying a matching set I always buy 2 pairs of pants to one bra. If the pants aren’t always matching they are at least the same colour. I change everything else daily (sometimes change pants twice a day) apart from the bra. I’ve never thought anything of getting 2/3 days out of a bra, my mum granny and housemates at uni all did this. Genuinely shocked at the lady who goes the 12 a week Shock!

It isn’t about her not being clean, I actively encourage that but I think it’s so wasteful on her part wanting more bras because she can’t be bothered to empty her stinking pit of a bedroom more than once a week. I am not going in there hunting for them, there comes a point she has to take responsibility.

Allpizza my 32dd and 32e are from Asda.

Maybe some stores have a wider range, their website has nothing bigger than a c cup in 32 back. I'm a size 8 and should wear a 28e/30dd, but often wear the sister size of 32d because it is more readily available (and without horrible thick straps), but could not find any there.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 24/03/2018 20:49

If she had large breast it’s even more important to wash them frequently as they will absorb sweat and will be the perfect breeding ground for all sort of under-boob fungal infections.

laddylonglocks · 24/03/2018 20:50

I wear it for weeks. Yet I wear clean clothes most days and shower every day, love my hair clean etc. Minging I know.. I just don't have many bras that fit and can't afford any more.

tamepanda · 24/03/2018 20:58

Everyday - sometimes twice a day! I’m breastfeeding and have a projectile vomiting baby! Sad

thiskittenbarks · 24/03/2018 21:00

I change mine every day. Although I'm not overly fussy about this and occasionally I'll wear one more than once (ie if I want to wear a top that only one bra works with and I've worn the bra already).

Also when I'm at home I just wear comfy unwired bras so sometimes I just wear a proper bra for a few hours while I pop out - then I don't mind wearing it again
I do find that washing them often does tend to ruin them / make the underwire pop out," so I try to have lots of bras in circulation.

kmc1111 · 24/03/2018 21:01

I wear a clean bra daily. I have large breasts and am prone to underboob sweat, so definitely wouldn’t want to wear the same bra for days.

I don’t see why she needs a bunch of new bras though. Maybe another sports bra (if she actually uses the sports bra regularly), but surely she can just do a wash mid-week and be fine?

Foodylicious · 24/03/2018 21:01

Have you tried the m and s Angel range?
Good price for 2 I think

Foody she’s a 28F, M&S Angel bras don’t go anywhere near her I’m afraid!

change it every 2-3 days. sports bra I wash every time I use it

really struggle to get comfy bras so would change it every day if I could

PinguDance · 24/03/2018 21:18

As a fellow small back/big cup boob owner, there is a financial limit to how many bras I can own-they're like £30 a go for a good one! I prob wear one all week then wash it, I don't tend to wear a bra at the weekends, only for work.
However I'm not v.smelly in general (confirmed by incredulous friends who looked shocked when I tell them I haven't showered for three days.) so maybe I can get away with it.

Maybe check out Boux Avenue? Their bras are OK and not as expensive as the Freya ones that I buy when feeling flush.

madeyemoodysmum · 24/03/2018 21:19

Every two to three days Winter but prob every day in summer or heatwave.

Sleepygiraffe · 24/03/2018 21:20

Personally I wear a bra for quite a few days. I don't think I'm minging, Why does it matter? Im not expecting anyone else to go near my bra, I wash every day, how dirty can a bra really get from a few wears?

The only thing I change every day is pants, tights and socks.

I have a couple of favourites and they tend to get worn the most.

PinguDance · 24/03/2018 21:21

Also to share some bra woe - the best sports bra I found is from lululemon and costs £58 Sad

Foodylicious · 24/03/2018 21:26

Ah yes sorry OriginalGeordie they only go up to an e cup.

wrenika · 24/03/2018 21:28

I have one bra and one sports bra. I wear the regular bra at work, then wash it at the weekend. At the weekend, I go braless if at home, and if I have to go out, I stick on the sports bra cause it's comfier. I loathe bras...but have got too much going on to go without, so I stick to the bare minimum. I couldn't be bothered with washing it after every wear. The only thing that gets washed after every wear is socks and pants!

Foodylicious · 24/03/2018 21:29

Debenhams is usually good for small back sizes

Gwenhwyfar · 24/03/2018 21:37

"I suspect people who think it's minging to wear them more than once are also people who wash every item of clothing after it has been warn. Pants, socks and tights, yes. Everything else - depends on if its got marked or if it fails the sniff test. Life is too short to be filling it with laundry and ironing."

Exactly. Knickers, socks and tights are completely different to bras.

Bluntness100 · 24/03/2018 21:42

Oh dear op. Have you really resorted fo slagging your 13year old Off on line because you don't like the answers.

If you wish her to take responsibility why don't you start a thread about that. Or maybe start one about her stinking pit of a bedroom.

Classy though. Anything else you want to attack your own child for? Your 13 year old child at that.

NotMrsTumble · 24/03/2018 21:44

Every day, and more. If I'm showering and changing then it's a clean bra. Dd has plenty of bras too, and she's a narrow back /larger cup. Yup, full price they're extortionate, but we always stock up and buy them in the sales.
