To think this teacher needs to be aware of the odour?

Had to have a meeting re DS; all fine.

But quite honestly, the stench from her was quite something else. I was in a small office and I was so overpowered by smells of garlic and chilli, or something.

It must be awful for the children!

I'm sure they'll survive.

Chilli? Or curry..... I think I know where this might be going.

MorningsEleven · 22/03/2018 16:25

Teachers should only eat plain, boiled rice and toast. They must only drink water.

All of their toiletries must be unscented.

Cos we wouldn't want to cover the stench of 30 kids! Any teacher who's walked into a room recently used by a bunch of year 10 boys knows the smell of putrid, hormonal desperation.

Trinity66 · 22/03/2018 16:26

Chilli? Or curry..... I think I know where this might be going.

mmm that was my thought too

Redglitter · 22/03/2018 16:27

If it was due to something she's just eaten you'll look ridiculous bringing it up. The children probably wouldn't notice it. You were in a small room and close to her - totally different to being in a classroom a distance from the pupils

MrsJayy · 22/03/2018 16:27

I think the children will cope with the smell of garlic unless they are vampires it is not a huge deal

Maybe she ate her lunch in the teeny room.

steff13 · 22/03/2018 16:29

I think garlic and chili smell good. Blush

RedBlackberries · 22/03/2018 16:31

Mmmm chilli and garlic. Pregnancy cravings for a really decent curry. 🌶

mappoftheworld · 22/03/2018 16:33

Chilli or curry? Where it is going? I don't know what that means.

Garlic doesn't smell good when it is that powerful. I just felt a bit ill after being in the same room as the smell for half an hour so felt for DS a bit.

I love the smell of garlic. And chili. Like strong smells!

t I live next to a field of cows who shit where they stand so I may be unreliable.

tinytemper66 · 22/03/2018 16:34

Aw bless!

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 22/03/2018 16:37

Bit of sneaky racism going on here..? Hmm

MrsJayy · 22/03/2018 16:37

What would you like to do OP complain to the school about a smelly teacher or maybe you could ask for a class change for your Ds ? Some people do smell of what they eat are you maybe pregnant if it has bothered you this much

Ohyesiam · 22/03/2018 16:38

Chilli doesn’t have a smell.

Unless some of her class are vampires they’ll probably cope.

If that’s your only problem with the school, you’re onto a winner. Be grateful.

BumpowderSneezeonAndSnot · 22/03/2018 16:40

Giving the OP the benefit of the doubt public facing staff need to be aware of their appearance and body odours and be prepared to be told if they need to address either

Kezza8 · 22/03/2018 16:43

All my teachers used to smell of coffee and cigarettes. It didn't do me any harm

lolaflores · 22/03/2018 16:45

I had a geograph teacher who stank of Jamesons and fags in the afternoon and BO in the morning.
We somehow withstood the trauma.

mappoftheworld · 22/03/2018 16:45

Definitely no racism, teacher is white british anyway, not that it matters, anyone can eat garlic.

I’ve seen some odd posts on MN over the years but this is xtremely strange.
You were worried because your DS’s teacher smelt of her lunch?

mappoftheworld · 22/03/2018 16:46

I am pregnant, yes.
