To think this teacher needs to be aware of the odour?

Had to have a meeting re DS; all fine.

But quite honestly, the stench from her was quite something else. I was in a small office and I was so overpowered by smells of garlic and chilli, or something.

It must be awful for the children!

I honestly don't know who'd be a teacher these days. They're basically on par with MiLs as being a source of evil on MN.

VladmirsPoutine · 22/03/2018 17:09

A teacher that is also a MiL would probably make this forum implode.

Eolian · 22/03/2018 17:10

Are you seriously suggesting that teachers should be told they can't eat onions, garlic or strong-smelling foods before every day they teach? That would be ludicrous. And what would you do about it if they failed to comply?

Yorkshirebetty · 22/03/2018 17:10

Ha ha, Morningseleven, soooo true!

I think you should move your son to another school immediately, this poor teacher shouldn't be exposed to you again.

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2018 17:17

Obviously we don't smell ourselves do we

chickenowner · 22/03/2018 17:18

How DARE a teacher have something nice for lunch!

I'm worried now - I often take leftovers in for lunch - tomorrow I will be eating tuna pasta which contains (shock, horror) some garlic.

I do hope that I don't offend any parents.

Hmm
DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 22/03/2018 17:19

I would address it with the Head first, then if he tells you that you are being an arse, take it to the Governors.

If they don't make the teachers stop eating garlic, then you really need to go to Ofsted.

That really is your only course of action.

Or you could just, you know, get over it.

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2018 17:20

A classroom full of farting kids must be far worse than a little garlic

donquixotedelamancha · 22/03/2018 17:22

I worked customer facing and we were told no onions, garlic or strong smelling foods 24hrs before a shift

Teachers don't have customers.

LaurieFairyCake · 22/03/2018 17:25

Anyone who works in a school knows at some point during the week one of the wee fuckers will shit themselves and refuse to say it’s them

Though the worst part is when they drag their arse and loose stools over the blue carpet for carpet time leaving a massive skid behind 6 inches wide and half an inch deep of poo

Give me a pleasant whiff of chilli or toasted garlic any day

ItsAllABitStrangeReally · 22/03/2018 17:25

The racism is coming from those insinuating garlic and chilli equals an ethnic minority.

I'm white British and both pretty much run through my veins........I've also been moaned at for stinking. They are stinky foods after all, whoever's eating them.

LaurieFairyCake · 22/03/2018 17:25

Damn I just realised I might be exciting the weirdo poo troll with my story

Ollivander84 · 22/03/2018 17:25

I know they don't have customers Hmm
But technically neither do doctors or hospital staff or care staff
If you're working closely with people then surely it's just common courtesy?

TheFallenMadonna · 22/03/2018 17:29

A previous colleague of mine used to enter garlic eating competitions. You couldn't be in the same room the next day. It became a disciplinary issue i think. He ate bulbs and bulbs of the stuff though. Raw.

SossidgeRoll · 22/03/2018 17:30

garlic eating competitions the what now?

TheFallenMadonna · 22/03/2018 17:33

Yep. In pubs. Apparently.

SossidgeRoll · 22/03/2018 17:34

A classroom full of farting kids must be far worse than a little garlic This! Especially on 'Roast Dinner Day' - I honestly don't know how teachers stand it!

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2018 17:36

JeezLaurie don't excite the poo troll or we'll have a very convuluted shite story when we're eating our dinner.

MsHarry · 22/03/2018 17:42
