To think Coke and Pepsi aren't the same drink?

First world problems I know.

I find that most of the time, despite listing "Coca-Cola", takeaways etc almost always send Pepsi instead.

It's not as bad as sending the diet version (ugh) so I wouldn't complain, but it's still not as nice and isn't the same drink. I suppose they do it because it's cheaper.

Was in a restaurant once and the guy tried to convince us that coke and Pepsi are the same drink and are made with the exact same ingredients...!

Explain the different taste then.

That taste completely different. I wouldn't knowingly order a Coca Cola so that takeaway would have lost a sale!

Pepsi Max is the best
Followed by Sainsburys own Coke Zero (Probably Cola Zero but I've never noticed)

I'd only have Coca Cola if I was absolutely desperate. The full fat version coats your teeth and tastes too syrupy. The diet and zero ones are just bland.

They are very different!

Pepsi is sweeter and Coca-Cola is more gasy with a watered down taste.

Branding wise, CC is aimed at upper class and Pepsi is aimed at younger gen... Having loved the Spice Girls, is that the reason I now love Pepsi?

I love the taste of Pepsi Max and have tried it once, but I never drink it because it contains aspartame.

Oh god, YANBU! They're so different. I drink a lot of Diet Coke and have been palmed off with diet Pepsi more times than I can count in a bar or pub. Then the staff look at me like I'm the unreasonable one for taking it back. Also one of my local takeaways lists diet coke on their just eat menu but after several orders I've realised they only have diet Pepsi. I called them up to complain and ask for the right thing sent out to me and they told me I was being fussy because they're the same thing

I only ever drink cola with Bacardi and it tastes exactly the same to me. But I have noticed if you ask for “Bacardi and coke” they’ll sometimes ask if Pepsi is all right. I’m like, yeah whatever.

Panda pop cola though, now that does taste different and not in a good way.

Full sugar coke is tastier than full sugar Pepsi.

BUUUUT

Pepsi Max is tastier than Diet Coke.

You can totally tell the difference.

They only taste different in the same way that different brands of coffee or baked beans taste different. They are both still cola.

I drank nothing but Coke or alcohol from about 12 until 18. My Dad used to try and trick me into drinking Pepsi or supermarket crappy cola and I could always tell. They are not the same.

Seriously,Pepsi max every time!! Definitely taste the difference.

I don't drink full sugar ones, but there's a big difference with diet. The official legal hierarchy of taste goes:

Cherry Pepsi max
Pepsi max
Cherry Diet Coke
Citrus Diet Coke
Vanilla Diet Coke
Diet Coke

Diet Pepsi

Coke Zero, you do not make the list (apart from the vanilla) because you ming.

I'd never knowingly order Pepsi and i hate getting it when I've asked for Diet Coke. They taste totally different

I prefer Pepsi - DH likes Pepsi Max & I have just tried caffeine free Diet Pepsi but prefer original Diet Pepsi.

Pepsi is mank, my dh drinks it. Coke is nice. I drink it. I love coke zero but hate diet coke more than pepsi.
