I abandoned Radio 2 when the last bastion of genuine humour and proper interaction, the sainted Sir Terry, left us and I went to R4
When Trump and Brexit happened, R4 was far too depressing.

I now live in a happy cloud of Classic FM and Audible and my life contains far less RAGE.

Lynne already has a show on Radio Wales, she needs to stay with Radio 2 too!

I was just thinking about how awful Steve Wright is on my way home and it was the reason I stayed til five instead of 4.30 as I had planned as I wanted to listen to Simon Mayo on the way home instead! I am gutted they are going to ruin Simons show with Jo whiley as a Co host soon. Can't she just replace bloody Steve Wright instead.

I was thinking about starting This Exact Same Thread on my drive home today! I was going to say exactly what has been said, he is deeply annoying and I have to turn him off or listen to my local radio on way home instead. He is not funny but he thinks he is hilarious. And he needs to stop singing over songs. Grrr. Radio rage

God I hate Steve Wright.

Surely he's only popular because workplaces have their radios stuck on R2 all day?

Mine is off R2 from 2 till 5 even though it means I'm stuck with the sodding R4 play and the Archers.

Ken Bruce on the other hand is a legend.

Totally agree with PP, I have Steve Wright to thank for me getting into podcasts. Couldn't bear listening to him for 3 solid hours when driving. I love Liza Tarburk, pottering about the kitchen cooking and drinking wine, fab. Then last week they put on Shane fucking Ritchie who talked non stop for 15 minutes on how great Shane Ritchie was. And doing fart noises to prove it's live radio. I switched off and sat in the living room in the huff

I fucking hate the Vine show. Loathe and despise it.

And I cannot bear the self-congratulation that SW indulges in. But what I hate most of all is the fucking factoids. A factoid is a false fact that is presented as a real one. Like the one about the sax on Baker Street being played by Bob Holness - it's not true, he didn't, that was made up by Stuart Maconie.

YANBU OP. Steve Wright is a cockwomble of the first water.
I am confused by people liking Sara Cox though. First, she can’t pronounce her own name - she says it like it has an h at the end - and second she has a stupid little girl voice and tone. That fucking awful Strictly Mums Dancing is enoug( to make me switch to R4. I like Evans as I think that, while he is undoubtedly a nob, he knows he is. jV irritates a bit. Everything else on R2 is more or less ok, except May9 who is fantastic. Brilliant interviewer, properly listens. Good book choices. Whoever complained about the confessions, I don’t think any9ne thinks they are real, do they? What doesn’t it matter?

I am a long time R4 obsessive but when Sir Terry was on R2 breakfast show I used to tune in on my drive to work as I loved him.

Yesterday I heard about 15 mins of Ken Bruce. I was in a courtesy car and couldn’t work the non-DAB radio. He played Baby Jane by Rod Stewart and I was musing to myself that they probably still play it on a daily basis. I’ve not heard it since I last tuned into R2

I do like Sara Cox though. They should replace CE with her. She makes me chuckle
