To ask what job you should be doing?

I should have been a high powered lawyer but was not clever enough so have been in supply chain for 15 years.

Beauty editor. Instead I work in marketing and my bedroom looks like I robbed the beauty department at Selfridges.

I should have been an author but work in a very boring office job which I hate.

This is depressing!

I should have been in musical theatre but very sadly I’m a civil servant.

I'm a nurse but I really should be a sports coach.

I should have been a marine biologist but I'm a civil servant.

Not a dentist. A shame because I am good at it but it’s too stressful and pressured these days. Instead- I quite fancied genetics, that was my second choice.

I should have been an artist, living on a narrow boat or a Cotswold farmhouse drawing inspiration from nature and wearing interesting clothing.

I cannot draw

I work with fibre optics.

Master of the world.

To humble me, the universe has conspired to have me re stocking shelves at supermarkets or cleaning on occasion.

I won’t be defeated!

I should have been an Architect. But I let people talk me out of it at 16 (think how long it will take to qualify, think of the expense etc). So now im in admin. Tho to be fair I do work for a housing company with significant architectural interest. So my interests are satisfied in part.

Should have been a pirate, sailing the high seas, plundering Portuguese man-o-war and French naval vessels, disappearing to obscure islands, to drink rum and sing sea shanties at sunset.

I actually manage companies, trading with international businesses, drink French wine on Friday nights, go to the beach at weekends and listen to I-tunes.

Historical consultant for films and tv.

MI5, MI6, interior designer, vet, research scientist. Different each day of the week☺️

Oh, costume designer on Oscar contender films.....

I should have been a star!
wanted to act but changed my mind last minute about my Drama degree then via shop work did some more courses and a degree in Health worked in Epidemiology now doing an MA in Public Policy whilst being a sahm and involved in local politics so bit different to where I was aiming for!

I'm a doctor. I really should have been a tattooist and piercer. I hate being a doctor

I’m a senior engineer I wanted to be a dancer. I loved dancing when I was growing up, I’m now qualified to dance, but only formally trained after I got my engineering role. My parents were “that’s not a job for life” types which is why I became an engineer. My job is rewarding in many ways, I’m crying as it’s in my soul and I adore dancing, too many commitments and too old to follow that dream now. I still dance as a hobby but oh how I envied Debbie McGee, now if I could do those tango moves in my hard hat, steel toe caps and flame retardant overalls, I’d have the absolutely perfect job.

I should have been a secret agent, or a vet.

I work in HR

I was going to be a lawyer but then I realised that I cry every time I get in an argument.

So I took my triple A* a levels and went to work in a pub. That was 11 years ago.

Or possibly a buyer/manager for an amazing interiors shop.

I manage a charity but should have been a clinical psychologist or family therapist - I got diverted on employment route by DC, illhealth and becoming a single parent with no family support

But I teach part time instead.

Should have been a bounty hunter but got born in the wrong country. An an accountant.
