If you’re going to be negative and rude please stop reading here!! Okay so, by all the calendars I should be 13wks pregnant and even my stomach growing/bloating adds up, seeing as I am normally a very tiny girl this is what caught my attention most, the other symptoms have pretty much subsided except frequent urination, and smell aversions, only problem is, I haven’t got a positive urine test and no office will give me a blood test, I’ve been felt on and told everything feels as if I’m pregnant but no 100% someone please comment some good advice/opinions. (Let me know if you’d like me to add pictures, it will definitely help)

A friend had a negative test with an ectopic pregnancy

sanasa · 13/03/2018 19:00

Do you have before / current photos?
Were you trying to conceive?

BrexTit · 13/03/2018 19:19

You wouldn't get to almost 14 weeks without knowing about an ectopic pregnancy.

Namechangefailagain · 13/03/2018 19:25

Have you had unprotected sex? If not then I'd say your not pregnant.

When I got pregnant I didn't need to see a doctor I just went to the midwife and told her I was pregnant and got sent for a scan.

RLOU88 · 13/03/2018 19:36

Agree it would be rare to get to this stage with an eptopic. You would more than likely be in agony and bleeding by now. That being said, depending on implantation times it is a slight possibility?
One things for sure, you need to get seen to!

Pinkvoid · 13/03/2018 19:41

Highly doubt you’re pregnant getting multiple negative pregnancy tests as far along as 13 weeks. They’re so sensitive to HCG nowadays they can tell you you’re pregnant before you’ve missed a period so this is just nigh on impossible tbh.

When I was in hospital having my last miscarriage the woman in the bed beside me was having a ‘phantom pregnancy’. Could be that, especially if you really want to be pregnant.

You need to go to the doctors anyway, it isn’t normal to miss three periods.

NinaNoSleep · 13/03/2018 19:47

I had what could be described as a phantom pregnancy, termed a 'blighted ovum'. All the signs of pregnancy (including eating for two...especially pies!) only to find at the 20 week scan that there wasn't a baby at all. All pregnancy tests still showed as pregnant too. Doctors said this was hormones still believing I was pregnant. Funny things that your body can do.

SharkSave · 13/03/2018 19:57

Ok questions need answering OP....
Have you had unprotected sex?
Who won't give you a blood test?
When did you start testing and are you performing the tests correctly?

Teeniemiff · 13/03/2018 20:01

I agree with others. I can’t see you would get to 13 weeks & not be showing on a test.

So you went to your GP saying you’ve missed periods for 3 months but not pregnant & theyve not wanted to attempt to figure out why?

When I was pregnant my gp never confirmed it.
I would book an appt with the gp tomorrow & explain what you’ve expelanied to us & if you’re not pregnant then you want to look into why

audHop · 13/03/2018 20:06

@Namechangefailagain yes , I have

WipsGlitter · 13/03/2018 20:12

Are you in the UK?

Are you receiving medical care?

Have you had a pregnancy scan?

MadameJosephine · 13/03/2018 20:14

Any maternity hospital will give you an early scan if you say you are worried

This is not true, you will need to have a positive pregnancy test and be symptomatic to be referred for an early pregnancy scan

starlightmeteorite · 13/03/2018 20:15

Sharron was directing her comment to the poster Filthy, not calling you filthy.

Rachie1986 · 13/03/2018 20:17

You need to see your Dr. It doesn't sound like you can be pregnant if tests say you aren't, but something is clearly going on x

helen650 · 13/03/2018 20:17

I’ve never once been asked about a pregnancy test result or been offered one. If you go in and say I think I’m 12 weeks pregnant, the doctor will usually ask when your last period was and you should be booked In with a midwife and a scan arranged. Are you in the UK?

GrandTheftWalrus · 13/03/2018 20:22

When I had my positive test 2 years ago I phoned the doctor who said they don't do anything now and to contact the maternity centre. So I done that and went there on just my say so that I was pregnant. However they did do a urine test there as well.

DartmoorDoughnut · 13/03/2018 20:23

Hook syndrome? Aka too much hcg

Thesmallthings · 13/03/2018 20:30

Some people don't test positive on test till later ir if at all

Also hook syndrome iv heard if you dilute the urine a bit you may get a positive.

You need to get a blood test done they are more reliable.

Also could be a phantom pregnancy where your body and mind think you are your belly will grow and every other symptom

pizzayum · 13/03/2018 20:35

It's not only pregnancy that can cause these symptoms OP so I would definitely see your GP asap

MadameJosephine · 13/03/2018 20:43

helen You can be booked in and referred for scan by a midwife on your say so but what would be the point if you hadn’t had a positive pregnancy test? Would you really rock up to an appointment in an antenatal clinic not really knowing whether you were pregnant? Not only is that a waste of valuable resources it also means that if you’re not pregnant and there’s something else going on you’re delaying it being picked up. It’s a much better idea to see your GP

dingdongdigeridoo · 13/03/2018 20:56

What week did you test? At 13 weeks you can get a false negative due to what’s called the hook effect.

EatTheChocolateTeapot · 13/03/2018 21:00

SharonNeedles was responding to the poster named "FilfthyforFirth", that's why she put their name in bold.

Jaygee61 · 13/03/2018 21:08

Could you have a phantom pregnancy?

helen650 · 13/03/2018 21:09

I didn’t say you rock up not knowing.
You go to the doctors, you explain you haven’t had a period, you’ve had unprotected sex and think you’re pregnant. You get signed up to a midwife and a scan gets booked.
When I was pregnant with my first I can remember waiting to be asked to do a test but never had to.
Whatever happens, OP hasn’t had a period for 3 months and she’s usually regular, that should flag some kind of investigation?!

brewsandbooks · 13/03/2018 21:33

OP was Doctor not concerned about being 3 months without a period , maybe go to a woman's centre explain your situation and that you think you are pregnant and hopefully they will help you ! If you are pregnant you need to be having the correct care
