If you’re going to be negative and rude please stop reading here!! Okay so, by all the calendars I should be 13wks pregnant and even my stomach growing/bloating adds up, seeing as I am normally a very tiny girl this is what caught my attention most, the other symptoms have pretty much subsided except frequent urination, and smell aversions, only problem is, I haven’t got a positive urine test and no office will give me a blood test, I’ve been felt on and told everything feels as if I’m pregnant but no 100% someone please comment some good advice/opinions. (Let me know if you’d like me to add pictures, it will definitely help)

OP posts:
OhBergine · 13/03/2018 18:15

@audHop she was responding to a previous poster called "filthy". Not calling you filthy!

PurpleTraitor · 13/03/2018 18:16

No one is calling you filthy. They are responding to the username beginning with filthy.

Be calm.

You need to go to the doctors

Sparklingbrook · 13/03/2018 18:16

OP you just need to see your GP.

Ivebeenaroundtheblock · 13/03/2018 18:16

She’s replying to a person named “filthy” not calling you filthy...

jeanlou1se · 13/03/2018 18:17

SharronNeedles wasn’t calling you filthy. She was addressing another poster whose username contained the word filthy

audHop · 13/03/2018 18:17

I was so so so so so so offended now I feel very dumb 😅, I'm sorry @SharronNeedles , truly

OP posts:
Need9HoursSleep · 13/03/2018 18:17

audhop I think you have gotten confused with the message from @sharronneedles, she was replying to a poster with name filthy

BookHelpPlease · 13/03/2018 18:18

Did you have unprotected sex 11 weeks ago?

If yes and no periods plus larger stomach and boobs then chances are yes but urine tests can't really show false negatives at that far along.

SharronNeedles · 13/03/2018 18:19

😳😳 ... I'll just see my self out

Sparklesocks · 13/03/2018 18:20

We can’t help you OP, you need to go back to the doctors and find out what’s going on. Good luck ❤️

VladmirsPoutine · 13/03/2018 18:21

What tests have you done?

Go to the GP. And why haven't you had a 12 week scan?

It all sounds rather bizarre.

ichifanny · 13/03/2018 18:26

Sounds like you are having a phantom pregnancy and convinced yourself you are a lot of hormonal symptoms can be mistaken for pregnancy symptoms . I’d go back to GP and explain you need HCG blood levels checked to put your mind at ease .

Monoblock67 · 13/03/2018 18:29

I don’t understand why you haven’t been referred for a scan or offered a blood test?

LeighaJ · 13/03/2018 18:29

Maybe not ethical...but can't you just lie and tell them you had a positive pregnancy test at home? The standard response should be to book you in then for a urine test and bloods I think.

I say "I think" because I got the urine test right away but not the bloods but was told later they screwed up and should have done the bloodwork at the same time.

Cornettoninja · 13/03/2018 18:31

I also think you need to go back to your GP.

I personally believe urine tests to be conclusive but if you are convinced you are more likely to be pregnant then by your dating you would require a scan. Either way you sound like you need further investigations so at the very least your GP should be open to that.

Be polite but assertive about your suspicions.

Cornettoninja · 13/03/2018 18:34

I can't remember my pregnancy ever being verified - I was booked in with midwife completely on my word that I had a positive test.

Might be a bit late for the op to go that route if she's already been to the GP though

bobstersmum · 13/03/2018 18:36

I would say unlikely pregnant if negative tests but you need to know what's going on!

BrexTit · 13/03/2018 18:38

Multiple neg tests means its incredibly unlikely you are pregnant. Go to your dr or a womens clinic.

PlasticWatch · 13/03/2018 18:38

A test would have shown positive at 13 weeks wouldn't it?

StepAwayFromGoogle · 13/03/2018 18:41

Doctors go on home pregnancy kits. I'm 33 weeks and didn't have any extra confirmation by urine/bloods. I would echo everyone else, though, no way you would be 13 weeks pregnant and getting negative on tests, there's something else going on. I'd go back to the doctor and ask them to do some tests - it's not normal for your periods to suddenly stop. Best of luck.

reddressblueshoes · 13/03/2018 18:43

He cycle before i got pregnant I was convinced I was- my period was much later than normal, I had signs and symptoms I've only had when pregnant, etc.

However it turned out, as that month I was also having tests done, that in fact I didn't ovulate that month. I'm convinced the pregnant symptoms I felt were my body trying to ovulate. The next cycle, when I did ovulate - and, as it happens, got pregnant- the only symptom I had was a positive pregnancy test.

My understanding is it's very very unlikely you would be pregnant without a positive test. I think for your peace of mind, paying for a private scan might be worth it- from six weeks on pregnancy should be detectable, at 13 wks undoubtedly so.

Were you trying? It's a v stressful process but I think the most pragmatic thing to do is to rule it out then investigate why your regular periods have become irregular. But I doubt you'll find many people saying 'yes I had negative tests through the first trimester and it turned out I was pregnant after all'

ichifanny · 13/03/2018 18:45

My doctor said hey don’t confirm by blood test anymore just take your word for the urine test and refer you to midwives , the home tests are super sensitive these days ,

lostmyfeckingkeysagain · 13/03/2018 18:48

Maybe not ethical...but can't you just lie and tell them you had a positive pregnancy test at home? The standard response should be to book you in then for a urine test and bloods I think.

Don't do this. They won't do a urine test and bloods, they will just put you on the list for the midwife who will book you in for an ultrasound. Meanwhile, whatever is actually causing your symptoms (highly unlikely to be pregnancy given neg urine tests) is still not being addressed.

There are many potential reasons for a distended abdomen and absence of periods. This needs to be investigated. Lying to HCP's won't help to get to bottom of this it just wastes everyone else's time. Not to mention wasting NHS resources that are scarce enough as it is.

notsusan · 13/03/2018 18:50

I took pregnancy tests when I was 10 weeks that we're inconclusive - apparently a pregnancy test stops to work after a certain point in pregnancy, maybe you're simply past that point?

Any maternity hospital will give you an early scan if you say you are worried. Failing that, could you afford to pay for a private one?

Good luck!

LeighaJ · 13/03/2018 18:53

If not pregnant than it is still quite worrying to go 3 months without a period so I'd press for a doctor's appointment regardless.
