'How do you make a speech at a provincial liberal arts college into national news? As it turns out, the basic requirements are simple: a shareable video, provocation and persistence.

For the past few months, this recipe was developed and fine-tuned in a series of speeches at Portland-area universities featuring controversial speakers. All have involved a small group of Portland State University students and faculty associated with an atheist student club.'

'Reader, it happened. In the early months of the administration, at the behest of now-President Trump, who was furious over leaks from within the White House, senior White House staff members were asked to, and did, sign nondisclosure agreements vowing not to reveal confidential information and exposing them to damages for any violation. Some balked at first but, pressed by then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and the White House Counsel’s Office, ultimately complied, concluding that the agreements would likely not be enforceable in any event.'

TheNorthWestPawsage · 18/03/2018 20:46

Occasionally an official would ask us in the Obama White House Counsel’s Office if they could make their staff sign NDAs. We’d tell them no and explain that beyond classified material and federal ethics standards on confidential info, WH staff work for the public.

These two Twitter feeds are, to my knowledge anyway, the only cuddly part of the Mueller investigation.

Trump presses GOP to change Senate rules

thehill.com/homenews/senate/378882-trump-presses-gop-to-change-senate-rules

Republicans are in discussions with Democrats about bipartisan changes to Senate rules to speed up consideration of President Trump's judicial and executive branch nominees, but if that effort flounders - as similar ones have in the past - they're not ruling out unilateral action.

White House patience with the Senate's backlog of nominees is wearing out, as Vice President Mike Pence made clear during a private meeting with the Senate GOP Conference on Tuesday, according to lawmakers who attended the discussion.

White House legislative affairs director Marc Short on Friday accused Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) of "weaponizing" the rules to keep executive and judicial branch positions vacant.

An example of Fox’s twisting of a story. Below is a tweet quoting Adam Schiff - it would appear he is supporting McCabe’s firing. However, should you trouble to click through to the article - and I would bet that a good percentage of people do not - that is not the case at all. The full quote is this:

"There's no way for us to know at this point, but even though it may have been justified, it can also be tainted," Schiff said on ABC News' "This Week," referencing McCabe's potential role in a probe investigating the Trump campaign's possible ties to Russia.

The ranking Democrat added that he thought it was difficult to know whether the firing was legitimate because it happened before the release of an inspector general report expected to conclude McCabe was not forthcoming about matters related to the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails.

I think we can agree that is poles apart from the propaganda Fox tweeted (below).
