Well, I just woke up after 18 hours of straight dead sleep, thanks to an awful head cold and NyQuil. Do y'all have NyQuil in the UK? It's a miracle cure.

Anyhoo, just want to say thanks for this thread! I was able to catch up on the last 24 hours of "All Scrotus, all the time" news. Unfortunately, things aren't any better (i.e., he's still there).

He does seem to be in the middle of the spinning vortex of shit. Time will tell if he'll be flushed with the rest of the turds or will be left as the loan floater in the toilet bowl that is Wash DC.

I hate to be the one to invoke "Godwin's Law" but more and more I feel I'm seeing the exact way that Hitler came to power. We study WWII & his rise to power in school, but it doesn't prepare you for witnessing it first hand. Nor the powerlessness you feel at the people around you who are buying into it, either because they are fools or because they have a vested interest in it.

But I'm ill and naturally not in a very positive frame of mind. Another dose of NyQuil and some more sleep should help.

Hope you feel better soon across. I remember having arguments with DP the first week after Trump was inaugrated where I was saying alternative facts and the blatant lying about crowd size at his first presser meant that things ending up as 1930s Germany was a distinct possibility. He thought I was being ridiculous and overreacting.
