AIBU or are we all going to be trapped in the UK from next March?

So, Ryanair and Thomas Cook are inserting clauses in their booking terms to say that if your flight abroad doesn't go ahead because of Brexit that's your problem. No doubt others will follow. If any deal is ever done, to allow planes to fly, it is bound to be a lot more expensive than it is now.

Is everyone planning many years of UK-only holidaying?

Bishop, many are waking up to the PIP scandal; the Tory (and sadly Lib Dem) welfare legacy has caused much suffering and played a part in the Leave vote. Keep 'frothing' sister - if you only convince one person to think deeper it has been worth it.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 14:01

I notice no-one's had anything to say about worker's rights

We've had a lot to say about that, on other threads. This one is about flying and planes. HTH.

Nice sneering.

A PP claimed TM had said she wanted to scrap workers rights. Which (despite being no fan of TM or the Tories) is arse.

It's really not, but could you stop trying to derail the thread? Thanks. If you could maybe read some of the threads here by some very knowledgeable people, you could learn what we are talking about and join the discussion in a sensible, informed way.

Hilarious.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 14:25

Yes, the ignorance and rudeness is hilarious, until you realise its just sad.

BMW6 · 13/03/2018 14:26

Back to the original question.
No.

frankchickens · 13/03/2018 14:27

OK, well of course, you are the expert on everything. BTW since you were so keen on (amongst other things) telling me not to derail the thread, do you think as the OP opines that we will all be stranded here with no planes flying in April? Since that is, after all the subject of the thread.

BMW6 · 13/03/2018 14:28

Unless Yellowstone supervolcano eruption takes place in which case Yes.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 14:29

No, as I said there are lots of knowledgeable people here. Says it right there.

You've confused the attention grabbing title with the actual substance of the thread, as I said if you paid a little more attention you could join in properly. Smile

frankchickens · 13/03/2018 14:29

BMW6 Grin at last someone with a sense of humour.

frankchickens · 13/03/2018 14:32

if you paid a little more attention you could join in properly.

As defined by you. Are you this rude in real life?

Meanwhile I will join in exactly as I wish, untrammelled by any odious self-appointed sneering thread police who may be hanging around posting bits they've copy and pasted and asserting this makes them so very much better.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 14:34

Are you always so worked up?

fothermuckinnamechange · 13/03/2018 14:50

This is pretty dramatic. We already have processes set up for all the non-EU travel people do and that airlines provide.

It's just big companies covering their arses because they can.

That being said I probably won't purchase tickets to go anywhere EU bound in April in case they're still working through some processes but TBH we'll likely be in a transition period and it will be 'no change' from a practical perspective.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 14:52

what has that got to do with the question at hand?

Peregrina · 13/03/2018 14:59

Is much of this airfrieght?

No, but it's a lot of fossil fuel being burnt up with lorries going to and fro.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/03/2018 15:04

Fother yes we do have processes for non EU travel.

Same open skies agreement that we are no longer a part of when we leave the EU.

So flights from and to everywhere will be affected. As well as other countries' flights going over the UK.

BlurryFace · 13/03/2018 15:10

Lol, maybe the dipsticks on FB are right after all and you're all going to come flooding back to the C.I. to admire our palm trees. Doubt it'll happen though.

frumpety · 13/03/2018 15:12

So we are not going to be left with no agreement , the agreement we do get will probably be worse than the one we already have and will mean companies having to spend money to adhere to regulations dictated by other countries, as in the case of a UK - US agreement , the cost of which will undoubtedly be passed down to the consumer.

Remind me again why Brexit was a good idea ?

Hi all,
We're getting quite a few reports in about this thread having turned into a bit of a bunfight. It would be a shame to see it go, so if everyone can get back on track asap that would be fantastic.
