To be annoyed at DH

I have a DS (18 months). Yesterday DH insisted he had errands to run and was gone over 2 hours but was going on about how it was all a surprise. Fine.

Today he hands me a card and a mug (not wrapped, still in its amazon delivery box). Turns out it was the card he spent all that time getting yesterday. I ask him what we’re doing today and he confirms nothing planned, just pottering about.

AIBU to be upset that absolutely zero thought has gone into celebrating mother’s day?

I think you're being a bit picky really.

He got you a card and present before today and you're moaning because he didn't buy the card far enough in advance or wrap the present? It does sound ungrateful to me.

I got handmade cards and little presents, chocolate lolly and scented candles from my kids and nothing from my boyfriend. I'm not one bit bothered he didn't get me anything. It's just a money making racket.

Myheartbelongsto why would you expect anything from your boyfriend, assuming you aren't also his mother?

Do people really get upset that their Husbands buy cards the day before an event and that they don't unpackage a gift to re wrap in paper that will get torn and thrown out?

I've clearly a lot to learn!
