AIBU to read porn on a kindle at work during lunch

Not 50 shades, better quality. Not touching or anything. No one can see what it is as I sit eating my lunch. If anyone asks, I say ‘war and peace’. Should I save it for home?

Wrenika... thank your for the Aiden Bate recommendation Wink
ton181... Maybe best that you dont google M/M ( two men) M/M/M (triad or threesome ) Wink

ReanimatedSGB · 11/03/2018 01:32

Those of you who like it a bit weird but well-written and proofread and stuff..

ReanimatedSGB · 11/03/2018 01:34

I have an ongoing list of anthologies - the one with the story about the orgasm-powered car. The one with the story about tripe. The one with the story about lesbian morris dancers. Etc.

JanKind · 11/03/2018 02:02

Porn? At work?If you have to ask you must be in doubt! Is it really necessary?

Kaybush · 11/03/2018 08:16

Compared to most women I know, I'm very 'open-minded' when it comes to actual sex (with my husband), but I would honestly struggle to look people in the eye if I regularly read M/M MPreg fiction.

RiverTamFan · 11/03/2018 15:22

@hairy
If you write it I will definitely read it! You should post it on tumblr under the term "fandom w*nk" as well!

HairyBallTheorem · 11/03/2018 19:21

@RiverTamFan and @FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin - let me know your fandoms of choice! And good tag suggestion.

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 11/03/2018 19:34

@hairy
Johnlock; mystrade; Jeeves; Star Trek (not enterprise/voyager) Wink

HairyBallTheorem · 11/03/2018 20:04

Johnlock!!!!

Gulp.

I heard things got very, very heated in that fandom over the vexed question of who topped (to which I'm inclined to think "who cares?" It's yet more of this "all sexual relations must be forced into the model of dominant/submissive" which I detest. Great if that floats your boat, but it should be acceptable that it doesn't float everyone's).

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 11/03/2018 20:10

The difficulty with a large fandom is that there is a lot of shite. Contrast that to Wodehouse fics which tend to be well written. I love m/m for allowing pure character interaction without gender scripts. Sometimes the top! Stories are lazily pigeonholing the characters, other times well reasoned.

HairyBallTheorem · 11/03/2018 20:16

Ha, yes, large fandoms. My favourites are Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. My top bugbears in those are the "Legomance" (aka author writes self-insert of female character who magically drops into Middle Earth and falls for Legolas) and the fact that so many women write Leia/Han like a bloody Doris Day movie from the 50s. Mind you, as someone whose favourite activity is writing crack-fic, both those are an absolute gift to the parodyist.

BroomstickOfLove · 11/03/2018 22:12

Fifi - Mystrade is my current favourite thing. Have you been reading Excultus?

RiverTamFan · 15/03/2018 19:15

Ah, Mystrade. The ship that existed on 0 interaction for years!

Personally my current obsessions are mostly Legends of Tomorrow and Teen Wolf, with a side of The Flash.

pandarific · 15/03/2018 20:04

Ooh ooh ooh can I play too??

The fandoms I write in currently are True Detective (Woody Harrelson/Matthew McConaughey dysfunctional yet tender relationship anyone?), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the comics and 2003 quite gritty cartoon - no slash but allllll the lovely family angst).

Lots more historically including Mitchell and Webb, Holmes of various kinds but ESPECIALLY Arthur Conan Doyle original, and I love a wee weird little British fandom.

pandarific · 15/03/2018 20:14

Oh and back when Top Gear was just plain fun and before all the racism rows and the punching incident I wrote slash that was pretty fucking glorious, if I do say so myself.

Caitlin Moran found some, read it, and posted about it on Twitter. True fact.

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 15/03/2018 20:25

Love your fandoms! I’ve not watched most of those, and won’t start or else that will be my full time job, reading random crack fics Grin

I’m googling Exultus - thanks.

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 15/03/2018 21:00

68 chapters Shock

I normally ignore incomplete fics as I have been disappointed by some that were not finished so I’m glad to see it’s just been completed.

HairyBallTheorem · 15/03/2018 22:21

I thought I had come across everything fandom had to offer (especially when I realised there was smutty RP radio 3 proms presenter fanfic Shock), but for some reason I had never thought of the possibility of Top Gear RP! And read by Caitlin Moran. Gobsmacked. But in a good way! Kudos, pandarific.

ReanimatedSGB · 15/03/2018 23:32

Oh I remember hearing about the Top Gear fanfic. I love the concept of slash fanfic, though I haven't read very much for years (was introduced to the whole thing in the mid 90s when someone showed me some Blake's 7 travis/Avon stuff...)

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 15/03/2018 23:38

BroomstickOfLove

Tried the Exultus - not my cup of tea.

The crackiest fanfic I ever saw was of Tetris. You read that right. The main character was ‘Cubo’ and there’s actually a fandom of Tetris.

FifiVoldemortsChavvyCousin · 16/03/2018 08:54

Ok, I looked again and after the first chapter, and apart from the OCs I’m liking it.

OP posts:
RiverTamFan · 20/03/2018 14:58

Excuse me, you haven't read Top Gear crack!fic until you have read Top Gear crossed with Yes Prime Minister and a bit of Patrick Moore and Wallace & Gromit thrown in!

In case the link doesn't work it's "They Saved Milton Keynes by MarcusRowland" and on ao3.
