I often walk around in shorts and a crop top at home, I do on and off exercises all day as soon as I get the chance so don't want the hassle of having to change.

My neighbour has just stopped whilst I was emptying bins and told me that herself and DP can see through my window sometimes and maybe I should put some more layers on. I have nets up but no curtains or blinds. Maybe popping out emptying bins in small clothing is U? I've never even considered it!

I am so embarrassed she said something yet so pissed off feels she has the right too. I've gone all self conscious that they are now going to be monitoring my clothing for levels of appropriateness.

So do I layer up or go out naked next time? ShockBlush

Wow 6hours is very impressive. Well done, wish I could get up at 5.30 and manage that. I manage a max of an hour a day working out.
DO NOT change your clothes, sod off nosy neighbour. They don’t need to look in Ffs!
If the say anything again politely ask why they are looking in your house in the first place.

Icanttakemuchmore · 08/03/2018 20:00

Sod the nosey neighbours it's your house and they shouldn't be looking in. I'd knock on their door and give them a piece of my mind in my shorts and crop top!

CandleWithHair · 08/03/2018 20:23

This thread has reminded me of this classic;

Except OP is actually being active in her activewear Grin

smilingontheinside · 08/03/2018 20:53

Why does no one ever say to me "smiling working 8 hours a day is too much there must be problem". Bet the pt's down the local gym get accused of having a problem doing exercise for most of the day or those training for marathons etc. Personally I get enough exercise at work and making frequent trips to the biscuit tin. As for CF neighbours if one of mine complained about my attire I'd definitely ensure I wore less and did my exercise in the front window sansome the nets Grin

Sprogletsmuvva · 08/03/2018 20:55

Some posters’ neighbours would be having conniptions if they lived near me. any sunshine & warmth, I’m in the garden topless, having breakfast, watering the plants etc. Our garden is overlooked by at least 5 households, but no-one has ever said anything.

Crazyunicornlady · 08/03/2018 22:36

OP I am impressed and I wish I had your dedication. Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t let the neighbour get to you!

Sarahrellyboo1987 · 08/03/2018 23:56

I’d put a poster up in the window about nosey neighbours!!

browneyes77 · 09/03/2018 00:02

First thing I thought when I read the post was “I bet she’s just pissed because she thinks her OH is perving at you!” and then many others said the exact same thing.

It’s your home, do what you damn well like in it. You’re not harming anybody else. She should stop being a nosey bastard and quit gawping through neighbours windows.

Tell her to stop looking through your window or close her own bloody curtains if she finds it so hard to look away!

Petrify · 09/03/2018 02:27

Nothing to do with her.Your house your rules. If she stopped being so nosy she wouldn't know anyway!! Grin

MakeUpMyRoom · 09/03/2018 02:35

Woman complains that she can see OP in her gym clothes.

Replies blaming the husband.

Amazing Mumsnet!

Lashalicious · 09/03/2018 03:03
  1. they shouldn’t be looking in your windows
  2. you can wear whatever you want at home and in your own garden—none of her business
  3. she feels threatened by you; she must feel that you are too attractive and her husband will be looking at you or something, that is exactly why she is trying to tell you to put on more “layers.” If you were walking around naked outside, that would be one thing, but you are doing absoutely nothing wrong. You should wear even smaller clothing next time to show her that she is not your boss in any form.
profile22 · 09/03/2018 08:51

I think that is so rude of your neighbour!!!
You’re in your own home, and she’s telling you to put some more clothes on??? What a cheek!!! You are entitled to wear and do whatever u like inside your own house, she shouldn’t be looking into your home nosey %#*
Naked twerking at the window from now on 👍 I hate some neighbours 😡

Biblio78 · 09/03/2018 09:35

What a rude neighbour

Biblio78 · 09/03/2018 09:37

Would like to add that, although I don't iron clothes very often, when I do, it's in my underwear Grin
It's my home!

SummerRoberts · 09/03/2018 10:18

Maybe you should pop the net curtains in the wash. Make sure they can see in properly while you try on swimwear for an upcoming holiday? And then a very sweaty workout session before the nets go back up?
Or maybe you could stand outside their house looking in and next time you see them, mention how inappropriate you find something they're wearing.
You shouldn't be embarrassed. They should be for a. Looking in someone's window so often that they know what they're wearing, and b. Actually mentioning it to the person! Wow!

Spicylolly · 09/03/2018 10:23

How rude, she's a twat, tell them perhaps they shouldn't be perving peeping toms...ignore them and carry on. She's probably caught her husband watching, dirty git 😆

Gwenvamp · 09/03/2018 10:58

It’s your home! Tell them to take a hike! You are entitled to prance around naked if you want to lol

georgie262 · 09/03/2018 11:49

We used to have an elderly neighbour who used to look out of her window totally naked you couldn't miss her. I think exercising in your own home in excercise clothing is perfectly reasonable - I think it's probably a bit of jealousy that her DH can see you

Lozz22 · 09/03/2018 13:27

Star jumps facing the window whilst totally naked! Do a bit of yoga too!! The downward dog position is just perfect for a bit of naked yoga right near the window!! 😂 Then tell her to feck off and get a life!! Hell she wouldn’t want to live next door to me!! I often parade around my house naked or in just my underwear!!

bsbabas · 09/03/2018 15:39

Tell her no!

TeknoGran · 09/03/2018 18:10

She’s just jealous.
